Be interested to see how the audio upgrade works out....standard system is dire.....

It really is. The company I went to have an i8 and they said the HK system in that is terrible!

This is happening!!

Update on audio upgrade...

I'm going with a set of components in the front, put the coaxials in the rear, fit a 4 channel amp with a 4 channel DSP and an active slim line 8" sub behind the passenger seat.

Hopefully that will be a huge improvement!

No idea on your budget but I sat in a BMW estate at the Chatsworth country fair that had got just two 4.25 components and tweets in the doors in the standard locations, 2 slimline subs under the seats, a digital processor and amp, it sounded out of this world, the depth and clarity were amazing for such a simple system. Clearly the gear won’t be cheap but the quality needed to be heard. If I do keep my 35is I’ll be ditching the 14 speaker jobby and go this route.

The issue we have is fitting speakers in the doors. They're so shallow!

I'm going for a full MB Quart setup.

It's not silly money but the total spend isn't pocket change either!

I'm confident that what I'm going for will be very good, if not once all the wiring is in I can easily upgrade parts.

The Z4 is never going to be amazing acoustically unfortunately.

Interested to see how you get on with this on a lowered car Steve , there are 2 speedbumps near my home that my lowered ZMR didn't catch but the E89 on H & R s i have to be at pedestrian speed & even then the underside of the front MSport bumper catches ever so slightly

I always thought the e85 was more susceptible to grounding? Not lowered my cars & they both had M-sport suspension, my e85 used to scrape its chin seemingly everywhere but my e89 has only scraped once so far.
Maybe my e85 had collapsed a little :P

If it makes you feel better on my Eibachs the front also can catch a touch unless I am crawling and thats only a 1cm drop. The H & R sit quite abit lower

I'm yet to scrape the front of my Z4 on anything!

There's a bump coming out of Bluewater that has teeth on the top of it so you can only drive over it in one direction, I occasionally catch the underside of the side skirt but never the front bumper.

I want the front lower on mine though!

I've ordered thicker rear spring pads to raise the rear slightly to help give me the nose down stance I want.

As I get more pics I'll upload! It's likely to cost less than £150 so very good value.

The front height of the E89 has always bugged me, the arch gap is just so big! I was looking at buying the Eibach pro kit soon over the H&R, but as you say it still doesn't lower the front as much as we would like.

Would you still opt for the Eibach kit again if you had another go at it?

That's looks a good drop, definitely lower than the Eibach pros. What's the tyre specs?

235 35 19 front Ps2 / 255 35 19 rear Ps2 , the Michelin do have a generous sidewall , similar sized Hankook or Falken would not look as full

I would.

Personally, I think the 4 pot doesn't weigh enough so Eibachs plus 6 cylinder looks good.

The H&R's sit too low at the rear for me.

Ideally the front arch gap would reduce by 50%, but the rear is almost perfect as it is for me.

Where did you see these thicker spring pads?
