Hi all,

I've just purchased another set of the silver roll over hoop covers without the brackets for the wind deflector.

I want to paint / get them painted in some sort of satin black. I don't want them to stand out at all so I don't want a moody Matt black and I don't want them shiny black!

Would everyone just take them to a local painter and get them to do it?

Would you try plastidip?

I've never tried spray painting before and I wouldn't want a crap finish!

Also, do they just pull off / clip on??

Get them painted in a Matt the same colour as the seats.

I have cream leather, so not sure about that!

I'd paint them myself. Satin black is easy to spray and get a great finish, dries quick too, just take your time and several light coats,

Also, has anyone had the chrome side repeaters sprayed black? Thoughts on this?

Looking at black grills, black side repeaters and black hoops.

Right, I've got a quote to wrap the roll hoops and lci side repeaters which I thought would be a good idea if I then decide I don't like the side repeaters in black but they want £80 to wrap the 2 hoops!

So not sure what to do about that yet, when my new hoops arrive I'll get a quote for paint on them I think!

I've got today off work as I was supposed to be at a track day at Goodwood in my Mini but as I have fact advertised for sale at the moment I thought it'd be best not to take it on its first track day!!

So I'm going to pamper the Z4! Proper detail session I think!

I changed my door speaker yesterday and found that my "tweeter" pod is in fact a lie and it's full of polystyrene!! So I'm looking in to speaker upgrades at the moment. Who has done what to improve the standard sound system? I'm annoyed as I was told it was the upgraded system with the pro nav... obviously not!

I went to Halfords on Friday and had a little top up on my cleaning products then went up to my parents house to use their facilities to clean the car!!

So, the process was...

Snow foam, rinse, wash, rinse, clay, rinse, wash, rinse, dry, meguiars 3 stage polish and finally wax!

I rain-x'd all the glass used a Halfords wheel cleaner.

I didn't get any pics as it was dirty by the time I was home! Hopefully the paint is a lot cleaner now though and it has a layer of protection for the winter.

I'd like to get a professional to give it a good correction/ enhancement after the winter.

I've ordered the black grills and hope to have the new hoops arrive tomorrow so I can get them in black along with the side repeaters!

I'm trying to hold off from buying Eibach springs and having it remapped at the moment! It handles well and goes fine but those are 2 things that will happen eventually!

I'm really enjoying this car!!

Ah lovely! I received my new hoops today so looking to get the wrapping / painting sorted ASAP. The new grills are on order.

I will be de-badging the wings once the chrome side repeaters go black.

I was considering buying the black side repeaters from eBay.de and selling my chrome ones but I have no idea what I'm doing!

I'm tempted by a remap at the moment!

Had an awesome day yesterday at Goodwood followed by a drive to Littlehampton and then on to Woking and finally back home!

I'm hopefully resolving the Wind Deflector saga today so the new hoops I bought to paint black will be spares and I'll be painting the ones with the brackets already attached black!

I've got the black kidney grills ready to be fitted but the gf wants them to be a Christmas present so I've agreed to wait until Christmas to fit them!

Rather than painting / wrapping the side repeaters I've decided to buy these...

I saw them on eBay.de but didn't want to order them through that, then a chap on Facebook (I'm presuming he's on here!) sent me the link to the website so I thought they're better than wrapping.

So who wants my chrome ones!?

Much better in my opinion!! Can't wait to get the side repeaters and kidneys on now!

I've also ordered a wind deflector as Big Motoring World won't play ball.

Has anyone tried to make a splitter like this...

I'm not a huge lover of the carbon fibre options available and would like something simple.

Wind deflector finally sorted!

I also bought some new pedals as I've been used to metal pedals in my Mini's and I just think it smartens up an otherwise dull foot well... I wasn't too sure about the ///M logo being a tad over used but hey, I like them!!

Incredibly easy to fit, the accelerator pedal just slides over and sort of wedges itself on tightly. The brake pedal requires a bit more force but you basically take off the original rubber pedal cover and replace it with this one. It fits very tightly so took a few attempts to get it on and every corner on.

Been for a drive tonight and they're all good! Just getting used to the slightly thicker pedals!

Black side repeaters fitted. Not sure at the moment, I'll de-badge the wings tonight and go from there.

Definitely need to fit the black front kidneys but the gf is making me wait until Xmas... maybe if I sneakily swap them over and put the standard ones back in the box she won't notice!!
