My theory on not waving at other Z4's

I get a wave (more often a nod though) from fellow 911s though - caught me off guard a few times as I was not expecting it.

Are you sure its a wave? Maybe its the other hand gesture that's of a similar motion before they remember they're driving a Porsche too <- because porsche drivers are know for their Alzheimer's

In seriousness, I think that as prices become ever cheaper more non-enthusiast owners are buying Z4s, They are the ones unlikely to wave surely?

Most enthusiasts would wave. Classic mini owners for example, always wave....but then Joe Public won't be buying a classic mini.

From my observation the semi-old people who are typical new-BMW buyers are more ignorant of the team spirit.

I thought, What a thing to say :o But then noticed the Flag :) I would always wave :D

I usually get. hand singles from other Zed drivers when they pass me ........ I generaly get the impression they are not impressed with my new driving style adopted after my epic points collecting incident earlier this year :D

Is it really that common then, to wave at other in cars? I've had different sports cars but for neither one of them anyone waved or flashed driving the same car... I think it's just something people don't do. When I drive my X1 or Superb, I don't wave at similar war owners either :-)

Think it has a lot to do with the old British sports car scene. I used to drive MGs years ago and was always getting waved and flashed at from other MGs in the owners club. Triumph owners did the same.

I always give other Zs the finger - sorry I mean a friendly finger or two raised from the steering wheel in acknowledgment of our shared appreciation of our cars. Don't do a full on wave but will flash back if flashed at. Don't always get anything back but I do seem to get more acknowledgment in summer with the roof off.

I'll keep doing my bit in the hope it rubs off! :driving:

If you want people to wave get a mobile home they wave at any mobile home regardless of make/ model

When I was 17 and drove an MG Midget, a wave was pretty much compulsory. Basically, it can be summed up, - rare cars share a wave.

Z4 is NOT a rare car. Coupe or M maybe, but otherwise, no.

Bikers pretty much always nod. I guess we feel that we share a knowledge that everyone else does not.
