It's also wrong wheel drive, slower than both the 125 models and the 135 makes it look like it's going backwards. Oh, and it costs about the same spec for spec give or take some spare change.

Now I like the look of that Tim. Much prefer the E87 shape to the current startled cat look and the additions you made seem to work really well. What model was this and how much would something like this go for (mid mileage)? Thinking of replacing my MK4 Golf next year at some point and this would be on top of my list, along with a newer 4 door Golf GT/GTI.
Sorry for the slight thread hijack Maniac. Your 116 experience does sound pretty woeful.
It was the 118d M Sport 143bhp and 30 quid a year to tax. Unsure what it would be worth now I guess 8 to 9k with average mileage. It was 4 months old when I bought it. Was really please with it and had no problems. Just be aware of the timing chain probs on these N47 engine.
