To be honest ... I fall out of my M Seats, I find the lateral support pretty crap. I bet the non sport seats are miles more comfortable.

Tom, a park bench offers more lateral support than non M Sport seats. The first zed I tested had then and I thought I was going to slide off of them

I am not the one to give advice on the latest camera tech, sure someone on here can point you in the right direction ... Be worth the outlay

You can get digital cameras that have wi-Fi on, so can upload to Photobucket and other image hosting sites.

Think the missus paid about 100 quid for her Sony one.

Yeah I definitely wouldn't go red on the wheel.

Black nappa leather with red cross stitching I reckon.

I got a question thou, how hard was it to get the door cards done? Seems like I read somewhere that they have to be cut loose.

Only real issue I see is that the airbags in the doors can no longer deploy. Might want to get that looked at Jonny.
+1 on this

If the airbags go off and there's no perforation in the leather to split and let them expand outwards, they'll most likely force off the whole doorcard which would hit you (or your passenger) with some force and could do you some serious damage

I can get wheel retrimmed by same firm in same red leather, was gonna go royals with a black nappa finish but how about the same red leather chunky wheel ?

How about a 2 tone wheel... To keep it unique? Red where the perforations are and black... All red would be too much.

On the dash the airbag is sealed behind the dash lining, but still can break through... Is that precut? Wouldnt the leather door card just tear in the same way?

The dash section is designed to open in a safe manner if the airbag is deployed - but that hasn't been modified.

As standard, the doorcards have a horizontal perforated line in the section of plastic over the airbag, which allows that section to open like a pair of barn doors (see below).
Doorcard.jpg

The leather (or other doorcard covering) is made to tear open on the same line - the leather is already cut and there's a seam that matches the line of the perforation in the doorcard plastic so the seam bursts open to allow the airbag through.

JE's doorcards look to be a solid piece of leather, there's no seam to burst so the plastic flaps in front of the airbag are unlikely to be able to open. Leather is tough stuff to tear so I think that the airbag would end up expanding behind the doorcard and would likely force the doorcard away from it's clips and throw it into the cabin before the leather tore

I'm sure this is a professional company and have made these compatible with the airbags, my guy did on my seats, you can't see from the outside...same as standard leather from the factory

Why are you all expecting the airbags to go off anyway? Far too pessimistic.

I bet you all walk around covered in bubble wrap

Possibly, but it's worth JE asking the question now - it's too late after an airbag's gone off. I wouldn't like to be sitting in the car if a door airbag went off and pushed the doorcard into the cabin, it would probably do you more damage than the accident itself with no airbag.

If you look at the standard doorcards (this is one of pawnsacrifice's pictures), you can see the seam in the leather that matches the perforated seam in the airbag pocket
DC_Filled.jpg

This one from JE's post shows the leather as a continuous piece - diamond stitching but no seams to burst. When the airbag blows, the thread used sew up the seam on the standard cards will either snap or pull through the leather, a solid piece of leather such as that on JE's doors would have to tear/split open and while leather can be cut without much effort even a thin piece of leather doesn't tear or split very easily at all
imagejpg1_zps003be06c.jpg

It's all very well saying 'It'll never happen to me' or 'I'm not intending to have an accident' - the whole point is that accidents happen and, while some people remove things such as airbags when they're modding a car, it's another thing entirely to turn a safety feature into something that could cause serious injury.

Considering they were done by a professional company, I'd certainly ask the question, and expect them to rectify with no cost implications if it's not right. Surely that's the reason you take something like this to an upholsterers and not just Dorris with her sewing machine?

Looks like a big airbag but it barely inflated - did however burst the seams very well!
It would have fully inflated when triggered. Airbags inflate fully in fractions of a second and then start to deflate immediately to cushion/slow down any movement of the occupant's body - if they stayed fully inflated there'd be little or no cushioning of the impact

If you look at this slow-motion video of an airbag deployment you'll see it inflate fully, then start to sag as it deflates
