Don't know how I missed this thread! Thought my ears were burning!!

Top posts Marlon!

Mike

Cheers Mike - I captured some great driving audio of my DLV back box Mark II

So Lady Marlon was looking at the car out of the window and said the silver roll hoops need to be painted black now that I've got the black theme going on :poke:

It was the push I needed as I've been humming and harring over this since last summer (I even had a Poll going at one point  )

So I've done it - must say I'm very happy with the look :)

I was going to say something when I saw your pic with Mr Wilks the other week...but I just figured you hadn't got round to it yet. ;)

They look great in black now BTW. :)

Yes, Lady Marlon was right (well aren't they always)?

Black definitely looks better.

Did you remove the hoops? Or re colour in situ? I've removed a set and they were a right PITA!

I pained them in situ as I had also heard what a PITA they are to remove.
It took 5 coats and deft brush work, and I still have possibly a couple more coats to do in order to cover a few remaining brush strokes.

Not sure if I mentioned it to you previously, but love the look of those gloss style 32's mate. They suit the car. Nice progress thread man, enjoyable read and nice to see the path that you've taken. Keep up the good work :D :winner:

Really enjoyed reading this having had my car for six weeks or so. Great mods to improve your car which is my favourite colour. So far I have bought new wheels from a forum member and fitted Goodyear Eagles. Ducklakeview moved my roof motor and last week I had front and rear parking sensors fitted. Tomorrow I'm collecting some fully electric sports seats from Milton Keynes. Nearly forgot the Steering wheel I bought from Dietcokeman and Royals recovered. Next job could be to improve the lights. I don't think I could justify a respray to red!

A set of 224s running Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics on their way :)

Are you swapping wheels Marlon??? I love your black wheels on red...

Cheers mate, I'm actually going for the silver 224s and grilles for summer (always wanted a set) then going back to the black Style 32s, grilles and hard top in winter

Cheers Vanne,
The style 32s will reappear in the winter - glad you like my thread, thanks :)

Thank for the compliments pal
Looks like you're no stranger to Zeds  I'm guessing the M sports seat are off Chris - they sound like minters, post up some pics once they're in.
I like the mods you've done so far, interesting getting the front parking sensors - understandable as that hood goes on forever doesn't it.
Not sure what alloys you went for, but good choice on the rubber

Nice switch up for for summer with the grilles as well...does that mean you're going to spray the hoops back to silver as well. ;)

:D they were a pitta to paint, still not happy with them really. Will have to remove and spray at some point

Marlon

Front Parking Sensors: sometimes 'She Who Must Be Obeyed' drives the Z. Need I say more?
The seats are from Chris. and he promises me they are mint. I will post some pictures once they are in place. The wheels I fitted are 108s. I like the look of them but having read other members comments about the problems I'll probably look for something else when they start to look tatty.

Marlon

Do you know if the wiring harness you used to connect your seats is still available?
I am having the same issues as you had. I thought my 2005 car would be pre-wired but unfortunately it isn't.

Kind Regards
