My poor car!! :(!!

Ouch ! good luck finding a new one...

I'm sure someone on here could list their car for more money :) voila, evidence. You're clearly due back more than that.

Silver lining... 7k makes a nice deposit on an M :P Or alternatively move over to the light side and test a 3.0si Coupe :D

You come across as a very level headed person ,I would be mad as hell.
The insurance company have set the tone of the negotiations by trying to screw you,in turn instead of being fair I would go all out to screw them for the injuries as well as top money for your Z.Good luck.

Sorry to see another zed gone...but at least your ok!
The insurance companies in my experiences usually make 3 offers.

Hope it works out ok for you!

Cheers...

 good luck getting it sorted.

Go to a doctor and get checked out even if you feel ok. I injured my neck years ago and though I was ok didn't realise I had a small fracture on a nerve ending, I will live with the pain rest of my life wasn't a car accident but whiplash can cause similar damage they actually though that's how I did it.

Yep - pull together a list of ads with specs & prices and shoot it off to them.

They normally play ball eventually !!!!!

You can see why people call the ambulance chasers for a bit of compensation, else you end up out of pocket (like I was).

Insurance companies are an absolute joke. The other parties insurance company should be liable for any extra money you have to pay on future car insurance because of this idiot.

WOW! bad luck mate. But the main thing is your o.k. Hope you get every penny for your losses. Best of luck, hope your next zed exceeds your expectations.

Cheers tug.

unfortunately i think you may be on a hiding to nothing expecting loads of money out of insurers. but i am jaded at the moment after petplan are refusing to pay for my cat. hopefully you'll get it right and they will pay out what its worth. fingers crossed

Very frustrating you're left in this position, but, as everyone has said, you're fortunate to have walked away virtually unscathed. We were hit head on and that was an aweful lot worse. Thr car is a bit of metal at the end of the day. Just keep pushing the insurance show examples of what is equivalent and what is not including costs of getting it,be patient but firm and also sue the other driver for recovery of uninsured losses too. Keep receipts etc. you might have free legal support on your insurance or RAC etc. Keep receipts for taxis etc.

Oh dear. little consolation ,thankfully your here to tell the tale.
Good luck getting a decent payout.

That looks hideous! I feel your pain and understand how frustrating it can be especially when it's not your fault. Glad you've escaped relatively unharmed, I only hope the insurance company come to a more reasonable offer.

Siht man :( That looks sad. Hope you get a good deal with insurance. Will you be parting out the car or is it saying with insurance company?

Go to an Accident management company and your neck and wrist hurt more now than they did at the time of the accident
It's completely unethical but you'll get a better pay out .

indeed you do...also the reason why insurances are so high.. 8)

Indeed it is , but the roots run deeper than you would imagine , my wife had a non fault accident , called audi recovery and 2 hours later received a call telling her that a replacement car was on its way , is a 330d as we can't supply a5 3.0 until next week ? I was away at the time so as she understood it it was sorted out by the insurance , I thought it was generous until I realised she had unwittingly signed up with accident exchange :headbang:
Repair took 5 months , car hire came to , sit down for this , £24,000 , that's correct 24k .
Audi puts their accident recovery to accident exchange , who in turn supply audis as replacement cars , I wonder why :poke:
It's all a con and they all scratch each other's backs including the legal teams , the barrister asked me why the hire charge was so high , I explained the above and pointed out that his firm also sent everything in duplicate on different days , how much per letter :poke
I should point out that she never claimed any physical injuries and had to phone up and almost demand the car be repaired and returned .
Bunch of sharks feeding off the rest of us :headbang:
My original point was threaten with accident exchange and the insurance will get a move on , for obvious reasons .

So......... Insurance company just called me try and move things along saying that I refused the offer from the assessor of £6120....... Which I confirmed. The then said they have amended it to £6260 (to account for spec/condition) when I argued that would not get me an equivalent replacement they suggested there was a car 8miles from me for £6100......... Wrong colour, seats and +6k mileage than mine had...... And that was the only example he had to counter the argument.. I then said he might as well escalate it further to which he said he would but his manager would give the same value as a final offer..... Grrrrr am I being unreasonable in financial expectations? I shouldn't have to settle for the only example of a 3.0 bmw z4 a a replacement for my pride and joy? If anyone fancies a little browse, I'd really appreciate a second (unbiased) opinion on what I should realistically hold out for? Mine was a mint black 2005 car, 89k red msport seats, fresh tyres all round and wanted for nothing....

Cheers for the support guys! It really does help! :)

I haven't read the whole post and sorry to hear about your accident but I hope you're not insured with admiral. Hey were useless at getting a decent valuation of my old 3 series. They all use the glasses guide to get their valuations. My point to them was that average Joe can't buy the cars for the money they are suggesting. They said I could get my 3 series for 2k. Mint, full spec m sports with all the trimmings.

I know it sounds bad but I would go through accident management too. You're not pulling a fast one as you have hurt yourself and at least you can get some more money towards a new one.

I would also take note of every conversation you have with the insurance company and also any costs you have encountered due to the accident.

I was told varying information from my insurance and ended up 2k out of pocket. I'd spent about nearly 3k in parts for the car (not parts that were required for an MOT, upgrades and I had all receipts). One side told me I could recover these costs from the next stage of the process. Not surprisingly I get to the next stage and they told me it should have been covered in the first stage.

Sorry for the rant but you have been made out of pocket through no action of your own so you need to be fully compensated for both the car and injuries and the position it's put you in with travel to work etc.

Good luck and I hope this story ends well (as well as possible considering you've lost your pride and joy)
