Our daily is getting some new boots on Friday. Is it silly to be very excited? Learned the lesson experienced with the Z4 where I put Conti SC7 on it at huge cost (when it’s doing 500 miles a year). Whilst they are undoubtedly great rubber, I’m not spending over £1000 on a 2013 CLS. To be fair the fronts are ok, but a pair of matching PZero for the rear is £700. So after great deal of research - unhealthily probably - have x4 new Kumho SP72S going on, plus tracking, for less than £600. Just. New tyres. Yum.
Anyway, parting shot of old boots after cleaning today… IMG_6874.jpeg

Our daily (often referred to as the wife car) is a Kia Sportage from 2015, we have owned it since it was 6months old. The Z4 is "my car" as she wont drive it but i also have a Triumph Street Triple which i use a lot for commuting and also for fun.

i know its an old thread but as it was resurrected i thought i would add mine.

They should be fine.

I bought a set of 4 Kumho Ecstas for my Z4 in 2021 for just under £400 and haven't had any issues with them, although after 15K miles the rears were getting low on tread so I replaced them a couple of months ago ahead of a trip to Scotland!

I dream of 15k from a set…

We collected this on Saturday to replace my wife’s E Class coupe:

We have a diesel F Pace as long distance family transport and for towing:

I’m starting to think we might have too many cars now!

Had this Clio RS 220 Trophy for a month now. Have only managed to put 100 miles or so on it in that time, mostly morning school runs. I did get out today to wring its neck a little and it is a fun little thing. Goes wherever you point it at what feels like any speed with little bother. It’s very firm, jumping in the Zed feels positively soft in comparison. Little stop on the Purbeck hills to start 2026 in picturesque fashion. IMG_4488.jpeg

Our "sensible" car is a TT, sensible because it has slightly larger cargo space and all-season tyres.

It's been a few years since I posted on this thread. Got through a few cars since then TBH.
But as of 1/1/26 my 'other cars' are my only cars as I don't own a Z4:
Audrey A4. My 'daily'.

Focus. Wife's 'daily'

And of course my favourite car. Not a daily, or even a 'weekly' but it's awesome.
