OMG. I find your situation appalling. Well done you for keeping cool about it and maintaining the moral high ground. Its funny how the police go the trouble to give me a ticket for not displaying a valid tax disc (leased car etc) days before you don't need one, yet can not sort out this situation for you. It makes me so mad, but I don't know what it does for you.

Another update, after doing a bit of digging I found out the companies like Dart Charge and Parking companies have an electronic feed of data meaning all they need is the registration number to get the owners details.
So I contacted the DVLA explaining the situation and asking them not to provide this information without confirmation of make and model. I had forgotten this as it was a few weeks ago, but today I received a letter from them advising a marker had been placed on the system meaning my data won't be handed out without this confirmation.
Fingers crossed I have the sorted finally.
