My new Z4M Roadster

That's the only problem with CSL wheels, they do look great but so many Z4s have them I went back to 224s after I bought mine!

Those 260s do look like a great alternative though.

I'd love to know what you think of the KW V3s once you have used them as I keep wondering about getting them. Only problem is I was quoted the thick end of £3K for a new set supplied and fitted. :(

I do like the CSL’s (I think I like these more though).
I am also happy to go it alone, ha.

Nice those Ruby…

I’ve gone for Avant garde M359 with Michelin boots too.

I have the kw v3 and the corresponding invoice for them :o
It might be me but it always feels that the car bottoms out on bumps, no idea if that is meant to feel like that or what the benefit of these are meant to be

If you’re keeping an M they’re well worth it Mr T, bump and rebound adjustable, not too low, they transform an M, really show up how bad the stock ones are. :driving:

When are you going to put these on the M John? Or don’t you have enough of the M in one bit to put them on :poke:

I was going to get the 224’s refurbished but whilst taking them off to paint the brakes I realised how heavy they are (really bloody heavy). At that moment I decided they were going.

I bought the KW’s second hand and had driven the car they came off. So I think I will be very happy with them. I will report back though.

They are nice as well. I was very keen on only 18’s and also genuine wheels, OEM+ sort of thing for me.

Thanks guys.

I'm just wondering if the KWs might be overkill given that I have no plans to take my car on a track?

The H & R coil-overs that my car came with are only height adjustable and the ride quality gets tiring on a long trip. I did get a quick ride in a low mileage MC in 2023 and it really highlighted how firm my set-up is. Maybe I need to try to experience other alternatives.

Apologies for getting slightly off-topic.

I know, how dare you talk about a coupe on a roadster thread :poke:  :x

What tyre sizes are you running on your 260s? I have the same wheels but with the stock Z4M the sizes and they are fairly stretched. Also great to see another silver set as most are anthracite

Very nice. When I searched the internet I only found 3 Z4’s running them, all in the States. No doubt my searching was rather poor.

I will start with a caveat, I haven’t driven the car other than round the block twice. So they need a full testing schedule to check for any rubbing, none as of yet.
Fronts are 245/40/18 and rears are 265/40/18.

I really like the extra sidewall, please update the thread when it’s back on the road with thoughts, I’m hoping to get mine back on the road in May but I’m due new rear tyres soon so maybe just do all 4

I don’t think KW’s are overkill, the street ones as opposed to track focussed clubsports are for tuning suspension to suit your taste. If you’re doing long trips as you say then that makes them even more necessary imho. You can fine tune them so you have the perfect ride as you want. Got them on my 35i and M, wouldn’t go back to stock if I had to….

Does anybody have KW V1's on their Z4 and is happy with them? A have a set waiting to be mounted on the car.

Update on new wheels and exhaust.
The tyres sadly do rub a little, so I’m going to put the almost new PS4’s off my 224M on them (standard Z4M sizes). The less square edges (slight stretch) will easily clear the liners. They are only scraping a little and I was doing some spirited driving down some twisties near me. I don’t want any scraping though.
The RPI exhausts are loud for sure. At low throttle inputs and lower RPM’s the pops and crackles are crazy (addictive I would say). At higher revs it is quieter than at lower revs so I can still hear the induction through the eventuri over the exhaust which is perfect. So currently they are definitely staying especially as this is a fun car only. Certainly it is not a daily.
All in it was a great first drive post winter. Car felt great on the KW V3’s and it ran perfect. It also felt mighty quick. It’s dry and sunny with me and it lit the tyres up in second gear in a perfect straight line on a smooth road with everything turned off (roll on throttle). Can’t tell if it the absence of driving it or something else making it feel so rapid. Anyway it’s great to be back in it.

Great to hear your enjoying the car now, I can tell you from experience the rpi will get to much, I ran mine for a year all told before switching to something else

You may well be right. I am in a roadster so maybe that will make it less tiresome.

More work on the car. After examining the rubbing from the tyres it is only in one tiny spot on the fronts and maybe on the rears. I have carried out a little mod to the liner on the front left and I’m going to see how it goes. The rubbing is so minimal even after a 25 mile B road drive.
I have also managed to get the front self levelling centre caps to fit by flattening the centre cap. There was space behind the cap to the nut. It is literally just a dust cover so it needs to be there but it’s not important what shape it is. Well happy with that.
