Renault Laguna?
Surely not a Citroen?!

Oooooooooooooooh you were warm with that post.

And here is a recap of the clues;
* 17 years old
* Not Japanese
* 2.0l engine
* FWD
* not British or German or Italian
* hatchback

Ok, I'm going french hatchback. Fairly big. Could be leftfield..

Renault 25
Citroen Xantia
Citroen ZX
Not an XM?

If p4cks has bought a Clio Williams (or Williams 2 or 3) I'll be VERY jealous! (should speak to Aliv6 on here if he has)

Fits the age criteria, plus it'd fit the criteria of "something that will be a keeper and something to restore over the coming years"...

We have a winner!!! It's a Clio Williams 3 :)

Here is a pic, although not of the exact car I am buying you get the idea (the one pictured is a Willy 2). Best £900 I am ever likely to spend. I've always wanted one of these.

Excellent choice! Although with the way prices of mk1 Clio 172's have been heading, I'd have been hard pushed not to get one of those instead of a Willy. My first "proper" car was a mk2 172 and I've always had a soft spot for them since.

I had a 172 Cup. Can't get them for £900 though can you? Plus I'd say the Willy is more of a future classic than the 172/182 anyday.
