As requested, here is the evidence of my effort to make my first sponge cake. :)

That's pretty darn good! The question is, however - how did your sister enjoy a cake in the shape of a pig's face?

Only a practice cake, but she loves Percy Pigs, so I hope she will not think I'm suggesting she looks like a pig.

You could try making a cake in the shape of a Z4 coupe... if the top half turns out badly, just throw it away... the bottom half will be better on its own :poke:

Yes I like marzipan and also buttercream too. And that nice icing on carrot cakes.

i've not got much of a sweet tooth myself, but i am rather partial to that icing on carrot cakes.

m&s did also do a v nice cake (i know that's harsh on a home made cake thread, but i've only ever made cakes once, in home economics, and i didn't actually make them, the deaf girl in my class' helper made them for me) that iirc was a blackberry crumble cake, it was lovely....

my mrs does cake decorating too, only done it for a year or so though...you two should set up a business together, she loves making penguins too lol

"Cake. All right here?"

Cheesecake is also one of my faves. More plain or with berries. I have to say the Pizza Express one is very good as is the white choc and ginger one at Wagamammas.

Anytime someone mentions cheese cake I think of Peter Kay...

Marlborough cake? Do you smoke it?
