Right STi vs Z4MC
In a straight line the Z4M would def have the edge especially as the revs build
Point to point the STi has bags more punch out of bends. It seems a lot easier to get power down in the Impreza. I was always a little wary in the Z.
Brakes are way better in the Z even though the STi has Brembo's which I assume is down to the Servo but if you need to stop hard it's just a case of pushing hard on that pedal. Nothing some braided hoses won't sort out.
Mine has Prodrive springs so handling is amazing and stays as flat as the Z around bends. The ride is a little nicer in the STi, not so harsh over bumps.
Both sound amazing in there own way. Looking at a new exhaust soon to get some more of that burble out.
The Z got more looks than the STi which I miss but you can't have it all.
I'm looking at getting the Remap soon so will be a transformation to the car. Apparently will get the 0-60 time down to 4.3. Its 340 Lbs ft comes in at around 3500rpm
Motorway is where the STi shows its torgue at lower revs. It seems to reel cars in effortlessly.
I must say I won't miss the gearbox in the Z. I never got the hang of 1st to 2nd. The STI has a short shift gearbox and its an absolute peach.
I can't say which car is best as they are both amazing and love them both. They are completely different cars both have pros and cons. The wife doesn't miss getting in and out if the Z though.
