My new car

Hi all,

Well after selling the Z4MC I decided to buy this and collected today. I needed something a little more practical. I must say what a car. The low down torque is amazing and the grip levels seem to never ending. It only has 12,000 miles on the clock so its like a new car.

After driving the car for a week now I must say the torque is amazing. I'm looking to get it remapped soon to bring the power up to 340BHP/340lbs ft.

The styling is a bit too aggressive for me, but I am glad you are pleased with it.

I know that there is not much of an overlap between Scooby drivers and Z4 drivers (in fact a venn diagram would probably look like kylie's tits) but I am surprised by the lack of manners from my fellow forum members in not complementing you on your new pride and joy. :oops:

I'm sure you will be very happy with your choice. :driving:
 
Yes I agree its very aggressive but that's how they are meant to be. You can't help but love the car once you drive it. Makes you realise how edgy my Z4M was. This one seems invincible!! Love the 4WD and and Central Diff

Agree Andrew. Seems most are anti Subaru. I loved my Z4MC so much but just needed the extra seats and this was the next fastest thing at a good price. If I had the dough I would have bought as new M3.
 
Nice one, :thumbsup: I like subaru's but they are too small for my stuff ( :rofl: so why the heck did I get a Zed?) it's a long story.....

A car like yours was by me the other day, the driver told me he had over 400hp in it....impressive ... :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :tumbleweed:

But looks great from the outside. How is the performance compared to the Z4MC?
 
that is right up my street, love it, i had an fq400 before my z4m, it was quite possibly insane!!!
 
I've never been a scooby man, I prefer smoother styled cars with less edges and busy angles. Strangely I have always liked Evos though.

Glad your happy with the change though, nothing worse than selling up and hating the replacement, happy motoring! :thumbsup:

Right STi vs Z4MC

In a straight line the Z4M would def have the edge especially as the revs build

Point to point the STi has bags more punch out of bends. It seems a lot easier to get power down in the Impreza. I was always a little wary in the Z.

Brakes are way better in the Z even though the STi has Brembo's which I assume is down to the Servo but if you need to stop hard it's just a case of pushing hard on that pedal. Nothing some braided hoses won't sort out. :)

Mine has Prodrive springs so handling is amazing and stays as flat as the Z around bends. The ride is a little nicer in the STi, not so harsh over bumps.

Both sound amazing in there own way. Looking at a new exhaust soon to get some more of that burble out.

The Z got more looks than the STi which I miss but you can't have it all.

I'm looking at getting the Remap soon so will be a transformation to the car. Apparently will get the 0-60 time down to 4.3. Its 340 Lbs ft comes in at around 3500rpm :D

Motorway is where the STi shows its torgue at lower revs. It seems to reel cars in effortlessly.

I must say I won't miss the gearbox in the Z. I never got the hang of 1st to 2nd. The STI has a short shift gearbox and its an absolute peach.

I can't say which car is best as they are both amazing and love them both. They are completely different cars both have pros and cons. The wife doesn't miss getting in and out if the Z though. :D
 
I sold my old sti type r 2 door did a 2.5 conversion uprated turbo 350bhp low ratio box etc etc, I loved it wife hated it she wanted 2 seater and I had a good offer for it on the scooby forum and bought the zed , that look s a verry nice car enjoy
