My motors over 32 years

 definitely an interesting exercise and now I know where most of my hard earned ended up ... don't get me started on my motorcycle ownership, the thought of that & how much dosh I shelled out on those is something I have no wish to contemplate!!

What I've found interesting with past cars is running the reg no's through the DVLA and seeing what they failed the MOTs on, also gives you an idea when the car was taken off the road or scrapped.

Some nice cars in particular the MK1 MR2. Brings back some fun memories of when I had MR2's. Always regret letting my MK1 go they are fantastic cars and pretty rare now.

Certainly a great motor, never had a any probs over the 4 years I had mine, I was always letting people out of junctions just to flash the lights :)

Just a shame most have rusted away :(

I wish I'd had the forethought to take photos of my cars and from more or less the same locations !

To be honest Ron it wasn't intentional, just a coincidence over all that time as I've been at the same house and just happen to take a pic of the car on the drive at the time, I should need to subsitute the 118d M Sport and Z4 pics as they're the odd ones out :) I've actually forgotten one car

1985 Mazda 323 1.3 which I inherited from my dad in 1990 and sold it in 2005.

The photo was taken when the car was 20 years old with 68,000 on the clock.

Wind up windows, no power steering, manual choke and a push button radio :)

Yep, bit of a Yamaha fan, got 2 in the family now and had at least 1 for the last 18 years.
Turning out to be a BMW fan now too with 2 in the family as well.

I'm having problems with the concept of living in the same house for as long as you have :o I've probably moved house more times than you've changed cars , maybe that's why I have very little furniture
The driveway shots over time are just amazing to me as they've evolved

I nearly moved to Australia once

I've just never felt the inclination to move to be honest, I live in a nice neighbourhood in a quiet cul-de-sac with low crime overlooking the town, good neighbours whom I've known for over 20 years all which I think all counts for alot these days. I think I would always worry moving to an area thats potentially worse with neighbours from hell. Plus its just the cost of moving and starting all over again with a new property which has never appealed. I would only move if I had too or to the coast :)

The Cortina was ex RAC Rally car .

Alongside the cars I have owned a few motorcycles.
I know the list is not very exciting ,but I always try and pay for motors out of savings thus no super cars .

Thanks for ther replies all  so really I've hardly owned any cars at all :D Think I need to change a little more often :)

I have a neighbour a few doors who has an 1995 Escort Cosworth 4x4 tucked away in the garage and has been there since around 1996, I've only seen it venture out a few times but must be worth over 20k now :o

Probably not, I know I'm bad hiding the M140i away during the winter but at least its used the rest of the year but thats more to do I can't be arsed with winter tyres  . I think the Escort is purely an investment which for some there lies the appeal of not using a car but enjoying the fact its value is going up over the years as the car gets rarer. Part of me though thinks life is way too short.

Tim.
