My horn (in the z4) does not work anymore. Has anyone ever experienced this before. Could it be a fuse or has anyone got any other suggestions, thanks in advance...
Could be the switch in the steering wheel. Went on my old E46, when I mean went I mean the horn was constantly on. Had to remove the fuse to turn the horn off.
Hi, sorry for the late reply, i'm only after getting around to checking the fuses now, my bro (electrican) tested both fuses and both were fine... Can you reccomend anything else that i could check before i bring it to BMW, thanks in advance
Thanks for the reply... when i was driving home from work last night, i pressed the horn a few times and noticed that there was clicking / switching sound coming from near the passenger foot well area (or the glove compartment).
I did not want my bro to rip the cover off the steering wheel (is there a suggested way of doing this). Will it literally pop off if i pull at it.
It looks as if you horn is working on the steering wheel as that noide you heard must be a relay.
Look like it must be the actual horns or something that side of the fuse. You really need a meter on the terminal of the horns to see if there is any voltage.
Quite apart from the fact that I didn't even know we had two horns... How do I go about finding and fixing it - ie are each horns separately fused or??
