:D I knew that would get your attention...

My horn (in the z4) does not work anymore. Has anyone ever experienced this before. Could it be a fuse or has anyone got any other suggestions, thanks in advance...

Could be the switch in the steering wheel. Went on my old E46, when I mean went I mean the horn was constantly on. Had to remove the fuse to turn the horn off.

I'd be hunting down fuse or switch, since there are 2 horns with one in the void behind each foglight so they are unlikely to both have broken

Unless CJ, its been running on one for a time and 007 did nt realise ?

Hi, sorry for the late reply, i'm only after getting around to checking the fuses now, my bro (electrican) tested both fuses and both were fine... Can you reccomend anything else that i could check before i bring it to BMW, thanks in advance

Sounds like the switch then. You could test the horn at the horn side to prove that by disconnecting it and test it there.

I assume your electrician checked for voltage at the horn itself when you pressed the horn?

Thanks for the reply... when i was driving home from work last night, i pressed the horn a few times and noticed that there was clicking / switching sound coming from near the passenger foot well area (or the glove compartment).

I did not want my bro to rip the cover off the steering wheel (is there a suggested way of doing this). Will it literally pop off if i pull at it.

Thanks again for the help, much appreciated...

It looks as if you horn is working on the steering wheel as that noide you heard must be a relay.

Look like it must be the actual horns or something that side of the fuse. You really need a meter on the terminal of the horns to see if there is any voltage.

thread revival (rather than starting a new one) :)

just had an MOT - passed with an advisory...

1 of 2 horns not working :o

Quite apart from the fact that I didn't even know we had two horns... How do I go about finding and fixing it - ie are each horns separately fused or??

Anyone know how much a new one is?
