That’s a shame

I have found them now - didn’t realise they were OE figment. About £45 each though so not cheap! May look at what else I can do with mine.

Hi matey

Hope you dont mind asking- where is the ramp you are using?

Fed up of pi55ing about on the drive under axle stands and I am not a million miles from PBO

It’s mine. Decided to bite the bullet and buy one at the beginning of the year. That said, only just managed to get the Z4 on it with some strategic (and safe!) use of timber as the arms on the lift are too long to hit all four jack pads.
skills

That’s commitment bud!

Z is looking good

MOT passed yesterday - yay! Two advisories - one was the rear bush on the OSF lower wishbone - a pair of new Lemforder ones have already been ordered, looks an easy fix. Also, a slight blow from the exhaust, again should be an easy one.

What was weird, just as the MOT was finished, the engine management light came on! It's not been on before within my short ownership. He did a scan, nothing specific came up but he cleared the light. Later, I plugged my Carly in as I wanted to check coding on some things, and a scan threw-up the following code;

Doing some digging around on-line and it looks a possibility it's the water pump - I've not had chance since the MOT to get under the car and have a prod around yet. I did see online a test to be done checking voltage at connections on the fuse box. This was E90 related. Anyone know if it will be the same checks for a Z4 2.5Si?

....meant to say, car has run fine, no temp/heater issues, temp gauge normal. Not driven since the MOT - my unit where I keep the car is opposite so it's only done 20 yards! lol

Hi mate,

Nice car, was just looking at the pics and thought that looked like the industrial estate in Barnack, then saw your location was Peterborough! I'm just down the road have just picked up a Z4 Coupe.

So a list of questions already, hope some of you lovely folk can help :D

1. My car has Bluetooth phone preparation and the space for a Sony Ericsson in the fold down centre console thing. Does that mean I can connect my iPhone, or will the Bluetooth only work with the originally designated phone type? I do have the BT pairing code
2. The driver's window squeaks a lot when it goes down, but not at all going up. Anyone else had this? Is it a lube job for the window regulator?
3. I didn't notice on the test drive, but on the way home there's a noise present like an electric pump wiring. When you dip the clutch the noise goes completely. I'm certain it's clutch release bearing due to this (although the clutch seems fine) but the noise doesn't sound like a CRB I've heard before, so thought I'd ask!
4. Does anyone else find their seatbelt digging in to the side of their neck? I'm 5'8" and average build so not an exceptional size either way!

I think that's all for now! :D

Cheers
Andy
regarding the window being noisy on the way down try wrapping a cloth around a spatula and spray with solicon fluid and rub between the glass and the window seal you will proberbly get a lot of dirt from behind the seal .

Ah good idea Allan, I’ll give that a bash

Stunning car Andy, good find. Great job on the paintwork.

I have a similar sound when sat in neutral once its warm. Its like a little grumble but once the clutch peddle is depressed it goes. It has been documented on here before and according to BMW its normal in these cars (but I still don't like it).

Thanks mate. Maybe it’s an oil filter issue on yours too?

Minor update. Finished off fitting the new wishbone bushes at the weekend plus removed the CDV. Both jobs have transformed the drive so I’m well happy. :D

To top it all off, the previously mentioned 002E85 error code has gone so hopefully no water pump replacement is looming!!
