oh dear, i will say this - no good will come of asking this lot for an honest appraisal after the fact because everybody is convinced theirs is the best, ergo your isnt :)
I spent maybe 20 years lusting after a 3.0 engined car, now i have one im battered daily by those with bigger faster better newer brighter sharper whatevers. So if it makes you happy - ignore them :D
Thanks road warrior ... I'm over the moon with mine :D

Very nice looking car, like the sport seats. Had my Z for 6 months or so and don’t know why I didn’t buy one sooner.
My advice is to make sure everything works as it should and servicing is up to date then you can prioritise what you do to it. A ZHP gearknob is a cheap and nice addition.
:D
Cheers Haggisman  .. Yes gonna get a ZHP gearknob, is removing the original as straight forward as I think it is?! :?

Yep, 5 min job. Tricky to get the old one off, needs both hands to pull it up, mind you don’t hit yourself in the face when it releases. Just push the ZHP one on, give it a thump with the heel of your hand. I bought mine from Sytner Coventry on EBay. Cheers

I think possibly some members can’t see past the ‘mine is best’ mentality, however they are a small minority, for most if you ask for an honest appraisal then that’s precisely what you get; is it slightly biased towards their own car? – perhaps, but that shouldn't undermine their ownership experiences or indeed their feedback

Been over the bodywork and have to say it's virtually immaculate  however the wheels are bubbling and need a refurb, any recommendations to where I could get them done? Also any idea of £££?

Thanks for the welcome and comments... Can I ask how reliable the 2.0 engines are? I did a fair amount of homework but I'm guessing no one knows better than you guys

Bugger,, did you have to ask that, almost as much of a hot topic as stubby/whippy or coupe/convertible :D

Help if you stated where you are in UK, there are some very good refurb places about, my sons 108 split rims were about £400 (all four), and look superb

haha! I've clearly got alot to learn!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Lovely looking Z4 - bi-colour heated M-Sport seats and extended leather must be pretty rare in a 2.0i - well done!

Refurb of those 108 wheels won't be cheap as to get a proper job the rims have to be split. You can save a bit if you split them yourself, but from what I've read it isn't often straightforward.

Nobody has mentioned the roof motor yet! They tend to get wet where BMW located them, so getting it moved into the boot prevents issues. There are a few forum members that can do that for you, depending where you are.

ZHP gear-knob is definitely an improvement - just be careful getting the old one off! It can result in injury to areas you don't want injured!

Good to see you seem to have contracted Zed-itis already.

Mr Tidy, Thanks for the compliment on my zed  luckily the previous owner already relocated the roof motor to the boot so that's one thing less to worry about! Are there more than one style of ZHP gear knobs? If so what do you recommend?

Thanks Rusty... I'm more than happy with the 2.0 and prepared for whatever problems she throws at me! :D

Great news about your roof motor.

This has the BMW part number for the 6 speed ZHP:- https://www.amazon.co.uk/BMW-25-11-896-886/dp/B0068XM1B4

But that price is too much! Try Sopers of Lincoln (they do a forum discount) or Cotswold BMW (I paid them £57 for mine in June 2017, although they have gone up since then). You want to be aiming for around £70 delivered.

It feels much better to use than the standard part - a bit shorter and a fair bit heavier.

So I've changed the colour of the Badges to match the car :D and just about to order zhp gear knob.. What do you guys think about getting a wind deflector? I don't really want it obscuring my rear view so wondered if they did a clear plastic one (I'm sure I've seen one somewhere!)

I'd steer clear of the solid plastic ones as I believe they create wind buffering in the cabin, I'd recommend the OEM mesh one - I don't have a problem with rear visibility
