My Black Beauty

Hello!

I'd like to introduce my beauty... Some of you may remember me pondering a purchase and not being sure about the red seats but then excitedly rushing off to pick him up.

My baby and I have been bonding for nearly two weeks and tbh I still can't believe he is mine! Insurance tried to come between us with companies saying min age 30, let alone <25 but Admiral came through for me. Also the red leather seats have grown on me and I think they suit as he looks very dashing in black. There are a few teething problems that I will need your advice to sort out but I can definitely say I'm in love and he was worth my savings.

Looking forward to meeting fellow Zs and maybe arranging play dates, hehe.

Very nice, I love my red leather - looks great with silver, grey and black paint.

What problems / niggles have you got then? I'm sure we can sort you out

Welcome Vanilla!

I too faced the same issue with Insurance and for me too Admiral saved the day! Im 23 and own a Gunmental Grey Z4 with tinted rear lights, 17'' hyper black alloys all the young, boyous additions which many people here shudder too!

Enjoy your new Zed, if you haven't already the first upgrade everyone does is the stubby arial! Do a quick forum search and you'll see :driving:

Very nice! I was very undecided on red seats when I bought mine only couple weeks ago and ended up with metallic grey n black interior after only looking at black zed's to begin with! I now also want the stubby aerial after reading this thread and already looking at the eBay links!

Enjoy!

Welcome along more pictures as above and i am sure we can help out with the niggles.

Thanks.

The issues I have are:
- seatbelt alarm goes off despite wearing the seatbelt
- driver side mirror vibrates and handbrake needs tightening - how much would this cost to fix and could I try to do it myself?
- key doesn't turn and steering becomes locked sometimes
- steering can be very light which is concerning over narrow bumpy roads - does the suspension need adjusting or is it the run flats?
- gears are not smooth over 1-2, kind of jerky
- this is going to sound like a silly girl but the gears are making my left arm ache even though I've always driven a manual, think it's because I need to stretch out across to reach them, I have tried different driving positions but then my legs bash against the steering, anyone else had this problem or found an optimum driving position? I don't want to be too low as I'm not used to the big front yet and worried about pranging it...unless I get parking sensors installed? I have been told that my Z4 is a 'man's car' as it doesn't have any comfort features (not even cc) and the ride is very hard.

The mods I'm considering..but not sure about UK legal restrictions
- Full circle rear brake lights and change the orange circles to clear
- possible third brake light
- am thinking about possible subtle drl (not audi style) - any recommendations, I do like the angel eyes.
- figure out best way to set up my iPhone /siri/ sat nav without drilling/screwing into the trim

I'm looking into the stubby aerial too. :)

Hi and welcome-nice looking zed there-i would check the wobbly mirror ASAP as they are known for falling off

Thanks, love you sig btw. I took it to halfords and asked about the mirror but they said they didn't have experience with Z, will try another garage, any advice so I can go in prepared and not ripped off please. Or do I get some double sticky tape myself...though I will be doing alot of motorway driving so don't want it to fall off!

hello and welcome, i thought all cars were female lol
Methinks Vanilla is a lady, so she's allowed to have a 'male' Z.
Scorp.
If I'm wrong, humble apologies!

Yep I'm a girl. =)

My mirror fell off the other week. I just used some double sided sticky pads, same ones used for fixing number plates in place.

Did the trick :)

Nice Z by the way
