Flymo,

The update on the CDV, is that it's so good now, I'd completely forgotten about it! Whereas before I had lots to complain about and it would bug me over and over, now I just drive it like a "normal" car and I'd completely forgotten it was a problem to start with!

Gearbox,

That sounds like what I'm looking for!

Maybe we should sort out an Alpine White with CSLs meet and you can give me a demo?

And pvr - if I decide to go ahead with the mod, all I'll need from your "how to" guide is how to get to the person who's going to do the mod for me...! :D

I'm up for that - always interested in a meet somewhere (pref a pub, with some good food!) :D

I'm getting an exhaust done by Hayward & Scott in a couple of weeks.. fancy a meet after it's done (gives me something to show off then too.. lol)?

Would be nice! These crappy wet, dirty roads leave loads of tar specks all over the paintwork, which are real obvious on AW...

I know what you mean - coming back from Bruntingthorpe in various stages of what seemed like a monsoon at times wasn't pleasant.

And neither was looking at the state of the car afterwards...

I guess that's the price we pay for having such a  coloured car... :D

...Cheers Mike - you would indeed have seen the pics on S2ki first.

It got a pretty good reception over there actually - but then they are a friendly bunch and I still post on the forum occasionally now...
More than a few compliments IIRC. What spec interior have you got? Imola with ally dash?

That's the one!

Maybe you should change your username to Wondermemorymike...?!! :D
:D actually not, I saw it by peering through the windows on your pics you posted, thought it looked like ally dash - unusual, only seen 1 other with that and not the carbon leather.

No need to peer through the windows Mike, let me open the door for you...!

I decided on the brushed aluminium trim to lighten things up a bit in the cabin - just thought the carbon leather was a bit dark.

Maybe it works better on the roadsters?

Having said that, it certainly looked pretty damned good on the new M3 at the Motorexpo... 8)

Always feel a bit cheated to "downgrade" a componenent though ... the alu is standard on the other models, where you have to pay extra (a lot) to get the carbon dash.

I didn't think the carbon was even available as an option on non-///M models? :scratchhead:

Still doesn't mean I like it in the Coupe though... :P :D

Although I feel I should stand up for pvr as he wasn't completely wrong - you do have to pay extra to get the carbon leather...

You have to buy an ///M! :D

Cheers, looks great. I think because a lot of people have already had a roadster then they would rather have the carbon leather, I know I would if I upgraded to an ///M because otherwise it would feel a bit too familiar, but as this is your first Z4 then it's not an issue for you. I think if I hadn't already had a Z4 with the aluminium then I would have specced it too.
