My Alpine White Z4M Coupe with CSLs

Hi,

I posted a few pics on z4um but have since treated my baby to a bit of Zymol Vintage action... :D
Awesome car, when I saw white in the flesh I was in love. Trying to remember from Z4um here, but did you have it on order for a while?

Good memory - I certainly did have it on order for a while (so long in fact, that sixspeed managed to buy a nearly new white one and kit it out with the CSLs before mine arrived...!)

You may also remember the hassles I was having with the stealer (basically being a bunch of incompetent monkeys!)

I've finally managed to sort out a reasonable amount of compensation and hope not to have to see them until the first service is due (which I will be paying for with my £500 voucher received as part of the compensation... :D )

500? I was quite pleased I got 250 + free SatNav upgrade to 07/02 but mine was just a terrible delivery.

I ended up with the £500 voucher towards servicing, £250 worth of accessories and the strut brace free (although they refused to fit it because it's not an ///M product and I had to wait for the third one to be delivered because the first two had parts missing... )

Should have thought about asking for the SatNav upgrade too - maybe I'll do that when I go for my test drive in the new M3 that was promised as soon as their demo arrives... :D

Good afternoon Mr Gearbox...

Right back at ya (again!)... :P

Speaking of gearboxes, how are you finding the CDV mod?

Maybe this isn't the thread for it, but a quick update / review would be much appreciated.

The one big thing I miss about my S2000 is the gearchange and, while I know I'm never going to get the Z4MC's to be as good, I'm interested in anything I can do to move it in the right direction... :D

I did the mod on my 3.0, but not on my M as I find the gearchange on the M a lot easier then on the 3.0. Don't think the effect is as great on the M as it is on the other models ...

Flymo,

The update on the CDV, is that it's so good now, I'd completely forgotten about it! Whereas before I had lots to complain about and it would bug me over and over, now I just drive it like a "normal" car and I'd completely forgotten it was a problem to start with!

Nice one!... still think a braided hose sounds painful though! :D

Result - glad it got sorted in the end. Actually I think I saw your pics on S2Ki first (did think of a S2k for a while).

Yea, just ask Zee42 about that...

I can't believe how much I love the White. So simple, pure, and beautiful!

Oooh.. braided hoses! Where do they come from? Next upgrade for mine is a set of Pagid RS29s and some braided hoses (now I know they're available). That day at Castle Coombe had the brakes getting a bit soft after 3 laps or so....

Gearbox,

That sounds like what I'm looking for!

Maybe we should sort out an Alpine White with CSLs meet and you can give me a demo?

And pvr - if I decide to go ahead with the mod, all I'll need from your "how to" guide is how to get to the person who's going to do the mod for me...! :D

Cheers Mike - you would indeed have seen the pics on S2ki first.

It got a pretty good reception over there actually - but then they are a friendly bunch and I still post on the forum occasionally now.

The S2000 was a great car and I would have no hesitation in recommending it. It's only the fact that I'd had it for 3 years which meant I felt the need for a change. :)

Beautiful, I'll bet you don't mow the lawn with that baby out though!

Thanks fire-n-ice!

I certainly don't. But then I don't have a lawn to mow!

The username is a nickname from years ago - quite a funny story which I may post about in The Lounge when I have a bit more time... :D
