1 At the last count, there were only 435 of the 35iS in the UK.
2 If it's on runflats, dump them or you'll never know how good the car is. Replace with the best you can afford.
3 Run it on 36psi front, 44psi rear: to avoid the little yellow light, to maximise the chassis and for better tyre economy.
4 Use regular Unleaded, but not below 95RON. Above is a waste of money.
5 Learn how to use the DCT with your foot, paddles, rocker switch and stick in & between its various modes. The DCT is more complex than it first seems.
6 Make the car 'sing' at least once a week, using 'Sport +' to keep it well over 4k revs in as many gears as the road will allow.
7 Take the 'Z4' off the boot. Hairdryer & WD40.
8 The best colour combination is Melbourne Red & Ivory White (with extended leather & lacquered wood), but yours is very good, anyway.
9 Put it on a BMW warranty. You'll need it.
Warranty direct is a better product and cheape in my experience

I really dont get the frenzy on here to remove the badge on the boot!
Can somebody enlighten me?
It looks great on my carmine red 35i (she's called Scarlet)

I'm in total agreement with the Z4 boot badge I really like it ! The only mod I'm going to make is getting rid of the stubby, loved the whippy on my previous Zed.
With regards the extended warranty I've currently got 10 months or so left with BMW but interested to know what sort of cost is there to take out a new one when the time comes ? Can anybody shed any light on it ? :)

I’m on the fence about removing the Z4 badge.
Back off my jollies from Greece today, hopping to get the Zed detailed over the weekend while the wife cuts the grass does the washing cooks the meals :D

I have had a full waranty with Warranty Direct on my 23i. The best thing is they cover items that 'fail through wear' after 90 days. This means for example, in my case earlier this year I got a £1550 valve gear rebuild all paid for with 24 new lifters all because one lifter was rattling!
Last year I got a full new clutch and DMF, also a lambda sensor.
My coverage for the 35i is for three years and is costing my £100 a month for 11 months, so £1100 for 36 months cover!
I would recommend them thoroughly to anyone.
The amount you pay towards parts differs with mileage, my 35 has only done 24k so they pay all of it.
If you go to their website you can tailor a quote and see the price.
I selected all options, media, safety, emissions etc etc.
They also cover any MOT fail items!
35i can be an expensive beast, especially if you map it etc without upgrading your intercooler.......

The BMW warranty (below 60000 miles) is £600 per year or £50 per month with £100 excess. I am on the monthly payment method so the costs stays the same when it trips over 60000 (which it just has). There are some very expensive things that can go wrong on these cars.

My sons a mechanic so Laborour cost are taken care of, although I do realise some of the parts can be expensive but I’ll take the risk of not getting an extended warranty

What excess????? Did you opt for BMW rescue to be included?

In my case I opted for £100 excess and no rescue (I've got Green Flag) and my cost is £50 per month. I bought it last November (2018).
Personally, I would sell the 35is rather than not have it under warranty. They are too complex to run without IMO.

Great Car.. I still miss mine but I'm happy with what I have as it gives me a couple of occasional seats for the family.. But the 35iS models are fab
