My 3.0 for £4500 now SOLD!!!!

getting more n more interested by the minute but I don't like to buy cars on impulse, I had been looking at SIs exclusively until this one came up. Plus, you are at the other end of the country (almost)!

hmmmmm....what tyres are on there mate and how much tread left? has the roof motor been replaced/drains modified at all? does it have the sport button? are the seats fully electric? lumbar support? heated seats? RTABs replaced? what work have you had done during your ownership?

Sorry mate. Which one are you saying is bullet proof? And y do u think it is?

TBH if I was in the market for a 3.0i I would happily take a pre facelift car. The engine as said, plus you have more tuning options and it's easier to work on. The valvetronic engine on the N52 is not for your average DIYer.

not that i'm disagreeing with you that the m54 is bulletproof (i've had about 16 in total now) but i'm currently in the market for another n52 2.5si or 3.0si - i havent seen anything on the net about the valvetronic being an issue on the n52? I know the n53 is pretty diabolical in terms of reliablilty, however i've not seen any threads on the n52 being un-relaible aside the sticky tappets?

Sorry for thread crapping OP!

I'm not aware of any issues with the valvetronic side of things as yet, just pointing out they aren't the DIY engine the M54 is. My main worry about buying a N52 engined car again would be the HVA issue.

Hi Cracker,

Can you answer same q's for me that you did for Londonbm guy?

I was originally looking for a 3.0SI as it's the same engine as my 130i, but I could be tempted for a pre facelift if the price is right and the mod's on yours are just so perfect.

Thanks,

Car now sold  gutted to see it go but pleased to say a forum member has bought it & will continue to look after it. :driving:

Did you get what you wanted for it mate?

It was a fair price off someone that will look after it.
I knew the 1st person that saw it would take it.
Lot of car for the money.
