My 20i M Sport

Hmmm getting the 35is valance too would mean the exhaust cutouts aren't right. Maybe I'll look for a non-or alternative.

Bob433 is correct you need both parts...I speak from experience..

Yeah I went for the full valance and diffuser package. Just gotta get them painted and fitted.

  • Swap the grills for full black grill (either de-chrome or new all-black grill)

You could go the other way... silver 35i/s grilles? I love the look of mine now!

Wheels are also currently getting refurbed (powder coated) black chrome.. as are the exhaust tips 8)
I looked around at a lot of options for the exhaust trims, then the guy doing my wheels said he could do them as well 8)

I’m definitely set on getting some gloss black grills. Although the grey ones look nice!

I took a punt on some of the cheap ones off eBay but they’re (unsurprisingly) poorly made and don’t fit.

The fittings are the wrong size and shape vs the oem grills so if you’re thinking of getting some, I’d avoid and go for a genuine set:

That does look good. I think the LCI headlights definitely finish it off nicely. Been considering an upgrade but not sure I can justify £750

I'm in two minds about getting the rear diffuser painted.

Do I go for

  • A gloss black valance and body matching (Alpine White) diffuser a la MrWilks with his 35i and PBondar with his atacama yellow?
  • Or do I get the valance painted in a dark grey matte, and the diffuser in a matte black? I'm thinking that could be a nice look for a white car.

I'm struggling to find pictures of what that might look like as an example though.

Personally this ‘matte’ or ‘frozen’ paint finish leaves me cold...the only time a satin or matte finish works IMHO is on textured plastic parts where a gloss finish can look tacky..

At the end of the day it’s what floats your boat...the good news is that unlike a whole body shell it’s not going to cost much to change your mind..

I finally got round to changing the wheels on my zed. Went for the 437M reps from CMWheels and rubbered them up with non-runflat Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 5s. Even at 35 aspect ratio they're quite skinny, but the handling seems to be a lot smoother than the 18" runflats I had before. Hand the alignment done and everything and now the steering is so light. Slightly disconcerting in some ways, especially vs the E85 roadster I had. Nice for cruising though.

I also opted for a carbon fibre boot lip spoiler from eBay. Did a buy it now on it and then afterwards realised that I could have made an offer on it and probably would have gotten it a lot cheaper! :headbang: Anyway, its here and it's on now.

Next on the cards is a replacement rear diffuser. I've bought the very short-lived M Performance Diffuser that existed for about a month for the 18/20/28/30i which has the single left side cut-out for the exhaust, so will be getting that painted gloss black and the lower diffuser in Alpine White then fitted. And last thing on the list after that is polishing up the exhaust tips.
