Had a fantastic weekend break with mrs w . went in the Z & managed all her bags so no complaints there :P
anyhow sat am we headed up to manchester from the hotel (45 miles ) spent the day & headed back .
it was during the return leg she suggested selling the car as " the bonnets too long , the ride is harsh & it only gets used occasionally " :o
now it didn,t spoil the day nor was it a contentious debate but i just wondered if any other owners had partners who don,t quite appreciate our cars as we ?
oh incidentally her idea was to sell the Z & her golf & get a X5 or similar :D

That would have ruined my day, weekend actually.

I have the same issue, mainly due to the car being driven as it should so becomes dangerous hence a liability.

We have other modern cars so swapping it is not an issue, its the concept of having it for spirited driving.

She even suggested I buy Ranski's red seats if I wanted :D

Watch that - could be a classic 'owing for an indeterminate period of time' trap... My wife gave me permission to buy an ///M a few months ago, but it would have used more than all our spare cash, and I just knew it would all go wrong :P
Exactly....when I bought the 224 wheels I had them delivered to my parents house a) cos they're always in and b) cos it would be used as a "well you DID buy those wheels didn't you" leverage tool.

ha . ive been there mate . when i had my 911's i used a reputed porsche indy on quite a few occasions and each time i collected the car i had the invoice on computer screen & they would forward the paper version through the post at the end of the week .
needless to say i was quick thinking on the first occasion & gave my parents address  so i would half the bill whenever i told mrs w :D
no doubt when she says her nails cost £10 its actually £20

My mrs loves the Z and it bugs her that she has to have a saloon ( elderly parent taxi ) or we may have had two on the drive

My Mrs was dead against me getting my Z but now she's been out in it she loves the luxury compared to my VX220. There wasn't a dignified way of getting in and out of the VX especially with a short skirt on (her, not me).

I think maybe, in time, I might be able to get above 3000revs without getting a bollicking and perhaps beat another car off the lights. But that maybe some time away yet.

Not just me then!

I don't know what you are talking about now

Though for some strange reason Mrs B thinks the one touch / remote hood function is programmed into the car. Not sure where she'd get that impression from - EVERYONE knows it's a Gaptech unit, right ? :?

Some may remember my chic, now fiancé used to refer to mine as the coffin - you need to find something that she equally enjoys that's rather selfish... then find ways to tease her back.

My chic has had to drive the Zed on quite a few occasions, even warmed to the heated seats, been spotted quite a few times at work topless (yeah) and says the coffee cups r the best in the world. Given she's been vey good with it, she's now on the Quattro and am sure, as someone who used to hate cars is starting to take a little shine to them, especially as she now wants to put a picture on her Facebook when she's driving my Zed...

... when I want to go for a hoon, refers to it as 'going round in circles' & not one bit interested.... though the day she wants to come along will be the day I get worried...

My advice, put her over yr knee, give her a good spanking & say if all she's got to moan about is your Zed (& in the sack) she's bloody lucky...

My only input in this is that my dad complains about my driving style in the Zed and guys start giving me how to drive their way advice. Both cause arguments. I therefore prefer driving alone. And I don't have to answer to anyone so I'm ok :D

My Mrs Is not interested in driving mine, she thinks it's too low.

She is happy for me to have it, and actually tells me to keep it when I say I might sell it because it's costing too much.

I do get "how Much" ? when I tell her what I bought for it , but generally she lets me get on with it...no moaning :D

My gf doesn't like the zed, she dislikes the ride, the lack of practicality, and the attention it attracts...

Not my problem lol

Now and again however, she does admit enjoying the attention when I pick her up from the station, and for example at a petrol station on the weekend where she pointed out how everyone looked when I started the engine :-)

Why do you think 007's DB5 had an ejector seat... :)

Do you know how I can best sort out this mod? Much needed.

What sort of driving are you doing then? Seems its many vs 1 :driving:

Mr Wilks, I'm intrigued as to your response to Mrs W. Silent non-agreement or flighty reasons against the sale?

My gf is weird; even with mini-inkey$ on the scene now she really wants me to keep the ///M. Says I'll miss it if I sell and points out that I've done that with pretty much every car I've owned. The weird part is that when she did ride in it I always drove too fast, it was too low and the ride was too bumpy. Secretly think she's a bit sad she'll never get to ride much in it again.

My g/f likes the car but won't drive it, nor will she attend any more meets as she was bored to tears at the last one and now takes the piss when I mention future events!
