MRI scan

I hope I never have to get one. I'm extremely claustrophobic. Just reading the description of the experience makes me panic and feel like I can't breath.

The dog is having one today at Liverpool University small animal centre. £1500 for the scan and follow up if needed with Chemo will bring the bill to nearly£5000.Thankfully have her insured.

I'm claustraphobic, I had a panic attack the first time, it was horrible. Mainly because they didn't tell me there was a hole at the other end!

Remove the pillow so your head is not so close to the roof and look behind you to remind yourself that you can get out if you need to

You are claustrophobic and you drive a Coupe? :poke:

i've had a couple of MRI scans over the years, yes a bit claustrophobic but nothing too severe. each one took about 20 minutes and the time seemed to pass quickly.

i don't think i would like to fall asleep as i would have probably panicked if i'd woken up inside the tube.

I had an MRI a couple of years ago. Fell asleep as soon as it started, woke up as I popped back out thinking that the scan was over, only to be told that they had to do it again because I'd been twitching in my sleep and ruined all of the imagery!

Hope the results are in your favour!

I felt like I was laying next to someone digging up the road it was that loud. I'm also claustrophobic and found the head cage thing really difficult. I was told to take music so I took something relaxing. Would have been much better with my usual rock music.

Lol I'm sure I dozed off towards the end of the first stint. I hope I get to see the pics when they're ready :D

I was told go take some music and I took Kylie Minogue Abbey Road album (fantastic) but left it in the van so had to listen (above the racket) to Free Radio. Btw the two nurses operating the machine were right babes. It was a case of 'if Carlsberg did scanners' They asked me to remove everything metal from my pockets etc then I found a metal popper on my work trousers but they said that was ok. Shame really as I'd put on my best posing pants just in case :P
