MR2 with a difference

Bike or car engine I wonder? Looking at the pedals and handbrake, I presume it's mostly car with handle bars attached...

Hard to tell if it's a Rev 1 or 2, the Rev 1 has 119 bhp and the 2 158bhp, it's an import, either way it'll scoot along nicely.

Sorry, MR2 nerd, had loads, still got a Rev 5.

Have to show off a bit when I can as I know next to nowt about Zed's... :D

I always wanted an Mk II MR2 Turbo with the T Bar, but I think I'd draw the line at one with handlebars :D
Any photos John?

Yes got some pics BMWZ4C, I'll dig them out.

Tbh I never wanted a turbo, they're all imports and the insurance gets a bit rampant on them, you have to convert the speedo to MPH, and they go out of tune very quickly, and are not terribly reliable. Having said that you can get some pretty naughty BHP out of them, they're 250 stock but little outlay gets them well into the 3 hundreds. The t bar is good but wind noise is awful at speed compared to a Zed. They handle really well though and the turn in is better than all 3 Zed's I've had, they're very sharp and pointy. A bit gutless low down on the normally aspirated but wind them up like the s2000 and they zip along very nicely, a very cheap fun car, great looks and absolutely bulletproof. I love the things, won't ever sell my black t bar. It's a UK car but with the very rare air con for a non import.

See, total nerd.

Yep :P
Over "300bhp" and "sharp and pointy" sounds like my ideal car
One of my friends had a couple and discovered early on the delights of wet roundabouts. He also found that braking hard when travelling down hill in the rain could quickly lead to travelling sideways or even backwards down hill in the rain

Ha! Yes they are tail happy in the wet, had the roundabout swap shop and going down a long hill, braking and downshifting, around she went, no notice, makes your walnut go I can tell you..!!

Yeah I enjoyed it while it lasted, not a lot of call for them anymore sadly.

I still keep my hand in though with the Fibreglassing replicating small parts which used to be made out of bakerlite for classic and vintage cars.
