Mpg

26 around town. 38 on the motorway. Make sure to reset your counter as it is cumulative. My 2nd counter has never been reset in my ownership and currently sits at 26.6mpg.

I can do 30~ MPG if I am driving the car how it is meant to be :driving:

I've seen 44.8 MPG on a 125 mile run from surrey to birmingham which was about 95% motorway, doing 70 and accelerating gently.

What tyres you running? Make sure Tyre pressures are right, bit more than it says in the book is better for mpg.
Anything damaged on the car, do you still have the under tray attached? Anything flapping about underneath will cause extra drag which will sap your fuel. Check the wheels rotate freely.
Tried some eco driving? eg coast where ever possible, get yourself behind a lorry/van and ride the air they're dragging.

I drive pretty much a 50/50 city/motorway commute and I can get 38-45 depending on the driving techniques I employ.
Went on a long ass journey from Nottingham - Cheltenham - Southampton and my trip computer was reading 55, didn't believe it but normally its only ever 1-2 mpg off the fuelly reading.

I've got something in the pipeline which should help improve all Z4's economy but its my secret for now until I get the first few prototyped :D

Dunlop tyres, it was the same with the bridgestones. Tyre pressure, ill have a gander. Undertray? just went out with a torch, nothing hanging down. Driving behind lorries, now there's a problem for me, I used to drive them, I'm not following them, ha ha. I do a bit if coasting in the hope of a better mpg. I'd say I have to be a candidate for the prototype thing, it just makes sense, he he he.

Is it because you need to loose some weight ? :tumbleweed:

Oi! We will have less of that, thank you very much young lady. I purchased a pair of Levi 501's the other week, size 33 waist, ill have you know and yes I can get them on. :D

On last weekends Scottish Autumn meet I averaged 31 mpg for 505 miles. (2006 2.0i Sport). Much of the 'hoon' in 2nd 3rd and sometimes 4th but disappointed in journey averages travelling up and down from Newcastle - though on the A68 not a motorway.
Have seen higher mpg on long runs but normally just under 30mpg when we go out for a spirited run - I think a 3.0 litre would come close to these figures - as always - depends how you drive - the 2.0 needs to be worked hard.

:driving:

Southampton, to Wakefield via Cardiff, roof down all the way, 44.8mpg
Normally 37 mpg mix of town and wakefield to York.
2.0 ltr.

Paulgs, sounds like you have the same problem as me, other 2.0 owners seem to get better and it's not lead foot, well not all the time but I get the 4 cylinder has to work harder.

About 26mpg since I got my Z4M coupe in August with more recent local mileage being around the 23 mark.

When we did our jaunt to Wales after having it a couple of weeks I was nudging 30mpg before we got to the fun twisty bits and even then the average only dropped by a couple of mpg.

Pretty happy with that- it's not a million miles off what our Mini gets which tends to be around 28-39 on average so for something with 130bhp more that's not too shabby.

Just got 46.3 mpg on the computer between Leigh Delamare and Reading on the M4, about 50 miles in total.
Driving between 60-70mph, chuffed with that. So you should get at least that if you try as mines the 3.0si!

Some impressive figures. I got 36mpg out of mine on the motorway from Sheffield to Newcastle. My short commute to work is returning 24mpg. 3.0 coupe
