Personally I think we ought to have a pandemic more often... it makes a lot of decision making very black & white

Yep, but maybe without the virus, lockdown, death and despair?

Just can't tax the car as there is no valid MOT (due date March 31st ...)

In the circumstances I’d say sod the tax and use the car if needed but would your insurance be void then..?

Good questions John. No tax will probably still go automatically into the fine system though unless SORN-ed.

The tax is only £20 as well for that car.

Good link.

It states that cars are extended for 6 months from 30/03 2020.

Cars due MoT before 30/03/2020 still need an MoT and you should try to find a centre that is open and get it done.

Mine is due 28/03/2020 and is booked in.

I would prefer not to have to take it down there. We know people in Saltash have the virus. It will be getting a good clean with alcohol wipes after.

Have you tried setting up by monthly/annual DD so auto rolls Paul?

Have also found the added advantage doing that for a SORN’d car is you can tax for an odd number of months without penalty

Our Volvo garage also just called to say are planning to keep the servicing open until instructed by the gov not to... so the XC60 will get its ticket at present

Got a letter from DVLA stating that they can't collect on DD as there needs to be an MOT in place ...

Got the same for the Abarth as that is 3 years old on the 31st.
