Mostly West Sussex Run - now with photos

After looking at the weather forecasts and discussion amongst all those signed up, this is being bought forward 24 hours to tomorrow, Sunday 30th

Safely home after a great morning out around West Sussex. Many thanks to Perry for the organising and for the great company of everyone, I only realised when driving home that we were all in Roadsters, so poor showing from the Coupes. :poke:

I will post some pics once Mrs R has finished using the PC, by which time it may be dark!

Just got back safely myself - barring a 'moment' at a junction as Jan and I split from the TW Mafia

Thanks for sorting it out to Perry & Cindy' that was a lovely wee run with some great roads. It was fantastic to see everyone again - hopefully we'll catch up soon

BTW, where did Tim get to :?

No, it was because I had to wait anyway, then floored it to get out and lost the back end ever so slightly (DSC on). I'd have kept my foot in and let the car sort it all out, but there was a bloody island in the middle of the road... I had to back off to avoid it and kangarooed pathetically for 10 yards :x

Cheers everyone for turning up at such an ungodly hour, but I think we were rewarded by the sparsity of the early morning traffic giving us decent runs at some nice roads - and an unexpected bonus of the run was that Jan spotted his next car just before we left, it did two exhibition runs up and down the seafront and Jan couldn't take his eyes off it

Hope I kept at about the right pace for everyone - first time I've led a whole run and didn't realise how difficult it is to keep the balance between boring the 'enthusistic' drivers and making others pedal faster than they would like

Great morning, great cars, great people

I didn't know that was the first time you led a run Perry - it certainly didn't feel like it, the pace was perfect

And no eager overtaking that starts to break everyone up is always good too.

Shame we didn't manage to lose Lynchy, but a decent effort

One thing that would really help is walkies. I know you've used them before, and we used them in Europe. Even having just 3 or 4 spread out amongst the cars would help, mainly when slowing down to let others catch up. You can't really use them at speed without a pax. I may invest for next year...

I had a snooze when I got home, so pics still to come, sorry

Due to a late weather-based decision to bring the date of the run forward by a day, I had to get out early and fill up with V-Power so, at 5:44 am this morning I was at our nearest Shell station - which isn't that near but the old girl will only quaff the best... and the car's picky too

The sun was just breaking through as we shot over to the meet point just north of Lewes

Unfortunately, as we were the lead car, Cindy couldn't get her normal oodles of pictures so when we made our 'comfort stop' she turned her camera over to Donna who took care of photographic duties until we got to the cafe - so here's a selection

Bing had to use all the power of his ///M engine to get past a jet-propelled cyclist - he was well up out of the saddle so I think he'd accepted the dare to eat a chicken phal last night

Then after a sumptuous breakfast - or, in Bing's case, second breakfast plus dessert - in a beachfront cafe we grabbed some of the obligatory group shots
