Most Expensive Weekend Toys

I'm from near Preston, well between there and Blackpool being picky. Back when we all first started driving and petrol was like 69p a litre we used to waste time by going for an ice cream at windermere when we were bored on an evening :D Could be sat by the lake in less than an hour tops. Now it must be 5, at least and without any traffic

Definitely worth the journey! I remember doing similar but down your way to Blackpool  Quick run round the pleasure beach and then home!

Neither really weekend toys as i use them through the week but cost a lot my Camera lenses and the ///M.

Just bought two new lenses in the last two weeks a 16-35mm F2.8 and a 24-70mm F2.8

Because I live in one of the most beautiful places in the world documenting it is worth while which is what I do with my free time :D

Took this out testing the 24-70mm last week

Stunning shot

Meant to mention to you actually! Did you sell/allow a guy on ebay to use some photos of your M btw? Noticed when I Was browsing ebay Aus that someone had photos of your car for some gear they were selling!

My almost new 997 TT Cab, back in 2008............list was £118K but fortunately the first owner took a big chunk but it still cost more than my first house!

My house - I don't go out much anymore at the weekends since I bought it as I like to languish in and enjoy the Laura Ashley-esque show home I have created :)

SWMBO has been busy turning our house into a Laura Ashley-esque house too. Good job there is always a sale on there!!!

I know! The sale frequency is quite good. On recommendation I've been ordering via topcashback.com and obtained my refund from there today, might want to pass that bit of info on :)

i dont have a weekend toy at the moment...... everything i buy, i use. otherwise it would be a waste of my hard earned :D

This is the most expensive thing I've ever purchased to use on the odd weekend

Hard to estimate which cost more - I suspect the house but it depends where it is!

my westfield, don't know how much it cost as i never bothered to add it up. it spends 6 months SORN and the other 6 months i do less than 1000 miles a year. of which 250 are the kit car show! it also seems to spend 12months a year in bits. i only really put it together to go out for a little drive. :D

My Westie is really very cheap to own. It has the same pattern of SORN and annual mileage as yours, but mine is on the track rather than shows. I'm thinking of leaving it SORNed indefinitely as the only miles it covers on the road are on a trailer.

My ///M is my expensive weekend toy at the moment - I've spent a fortune on mods in the last six months and haven't driven it in anger for well over a year :(

Bear with me on this.....
I spend a lot of time away form home with work during the week. So a house is sort of a weekend toy for me....
We just had an offer accepted on a house
It's going to cost the same as two of these:

Which is more than I've ever spent on anything by a factor of one of these:

Does that count?

No? must be my Ping Driver then

I'll dig it up, I think it was when I Was shopping for CSL reps and it caught my eye straight away, pretty sure it even still had your stamp on the bottom

I thought the kids were just going to be weekend toys.

Apparently the're full time. Only one to to shift now though.

Cost wise, thus far. Well obviously the're priceless. :P

Thanks for the heads up. Had a few issues of this, found a few on bimmerforum using some of my M3 pics as profile pics. Unfortunately can't do much about it :(

Must be very frustrating! A friend of mine is a photographer and often comes across her shots being used commercially too. If I come across it again I'll report them to ebay - at the very least they're selling CSL reps and using your photos of genuine CSLs to sell them!
