Doesnt have to be a car .. but I was thinking I paid nearly £15k for my zed and it is a weekend toy. So was curious to know what everyone elses weekend toys were like and how much they cost..

my car cost £26.5k, very expensive toy, even worse as i don't use it that much :headbang:

and its now worth about 10K :headbang: :headbang:

My narrowboat cost me just short of £60k 3 years ago and there is 130 engine running hours clocked up.

We are a bit fed up going up and down the same stretch of river as well, so it's currently up for sale.

My house - I don't go out much anymore at the weekends since I bought it as I like to languish in and enjoy the Laura Ashley-esque show home I have created :)

either the RS6... or the motorbike.... mind you I did almost do 100 miles on the bike last year... up from 5 the previous one... :headbang:

I have a majority share in a FTSE 100 company that I like to tinker with at weekends....cost me a few bob to get it.

I'm guessing your joking?? :)

Alas, sadly I am.....I didn't have anything interesting to write, so a lie seemed my best option :)

SWMBO - costs me a fortune
Yeah, one of those ongoing costs.
And not just on weekends either ...

Actually, if I add up what I have invested in guitars, amps, and other music gear, it comes out to several times my Zed.

Similar to me, I used to have a launch moored at Windermere in the summer months but like you a couple of years going around the lake and I was bored so sold it. It seemed to be a great idea at first but the reality is different!

I heard once that there are only 2 good days when owning a boat:

1. The day you buy it.
2. The day you sell it!

My father in law has a narrowboat & he paid about £57k for it & I think he has only used it twice in 18 months at best...I suggested he sells it as they cost a fair bit to keep & it doesn't make sense if its not used.

I agree they seem a good idea at the time but the reality is certainly different.
