More ///M Badges

Since swapping from a silver 3.0si to black M, I've had comments/questions about my car getting a paint job - most people thought it was the same car.

Very few people noticed the M badges, and I've even had to explain the whole M concept to people who have some car knowledge.

So imho the M badges only annoy the hell out of legit owners - the non beemer people have no idea what M is anyway.

Why not go all in and replace all the badges (bar the Jetta one oddly) and bang on a twin exhaust system

So surely... the only bad //M badges are where they are trying to make a non //M car look like an M3 or M5, Z4M etc

//M is a BMW sub brand - they have done styling stuff for a lot of the range for a long time now (almost a decade I think - the E39 5 series had it - and indeed had more //M badges on the outside than the present day ones do).

Essentially - as long as you're not pretending your car is a full on //M model - then I don't see a reason why anyone has an issue. Merc does it with AMG very well too. If the car looks better with the sports stuff, then all good in my opinion! (and yes, my wife's 3 series is an M sport!).

WOW :o But whats not mentioned in the article is the wheel caps he also has... :poke: That takes the cake... Do you think BMW can suit for "misrepresentation"?

O joy a badge for every occasion.......

The worst of the lot are those 'Mpower' badges that aren't even genuine BMW. There is a Z4 2 litre that has one on the boot parked next to where I work. I cringe every time i pass it.

Perhaps the R8 is stolen. Reg/title papers, badges, vin number plate etc. removed from a legitimately owned BMW 850 (likely written off and imported from ?) and then transferred to the Audi R8. If ever pulled over he'll claim the car is indeed a BMW 850 (hoping not any Russian cops would know what a BMW 850 looks like), and a good reason to replace the Audi emblems from the engine cover with the BMW ones. Sounds ridiculous, but this is Russia where strange things happen.

I was at the BMW dealership in Oxford on Thursday and saw a 3.0si Coupe with an ///M badge on the back for sale, it was 2nd hand though but I'd have thought they'd know better

BMW plaster 'M' badges all over their cars so I suppose they are the biggest culprits!
