More incidents in London...

Another 7 innocent people have lost their lives, time to act now. Round up all known extremists starting with the high risk ones and lock the pigs up for life, no human rights, life!
Let's start wiping these pieces of sh1t off our streets straight away.

I think "watch list" should mean deportation, taking any objectors with them. Done in a civilised way if possible, but with appropriate force if necessary. Oh, and take the 'civil rights' lawyers with them, no access to courts if they have ANY criminal record, including cautions.

Sorry, but i can't accept the concept of the 'liberal/moderate muslim' anymore. Theyre all potential extremists and theres no getting around that., :|

Chris the reality is that 98% are moderate kind people - I have lots of friends who are

The sad fact is as human beings there are always idiots and extremists who want to create mayhem for their own ends - if we refresh our memories of the IRA and UDA bombings in all of our recent history these guys weren't Muslim but they created carnage on the British people

Problem is complex - solution will be complex too

Agree with the sentiments of foreign policy though - our actions overseas are directly responsible for some reactions

Feel so sad for the ordinary people caught up in these events

I used to have that philosophy too. But it changed markedly on Sep 11 2001 when I experienced the population of Nelson, a seemingly moderate Muslim community celebrating the terrorist attacks in the US it was like a bloody street festival! Letting off fireworks, driving around in the cars and beeping and waving the pakistan flag! I was outraged and felt totally betrayed.
That's when I decided to sell my house over the other side of the M65 in Barrowford. I saw Nelson change from a seemingly half and half mixed asian and white town turn into an almost exclusively asian community.
I'd like to think we could all get on I really do. The world doesnt need hate, terror or assertive religions and i genuinely feel sad and a bit ashamed when i look at an asian guy who might have a beard and a backpack and not start to look at him suspiciously but thats the emerging world we're living in sadly.

So you said "you think we could all get on" but the sentence before say you moved because your area now has more asians. I'm half white/black it wasn't so long ago being a kid I remember the anti black racists, then it was eastern european now its muslim's. Seriously this is why there's so much social divide in certain parts of UK people with these thoughts to begin with. Lots of muslims everywhere I walk I don't feel scared of a man with a back pack and a beard get a life man will ya.

These people doing this are a minority of murdering terrorist living in our community.

When you recognise that when a large and clearly identifiable section of the community in the next town is celebrating the murder of 1000's of people that day and you don't understand why theyre celebrating I'm afraid you can't help but feel isolated, threatened and scared. That's why I and many others decided to move away.

I know all about racism. My best mate growing up was from India and we both endured beatings and abuse. Him cos he was the only brown kid in town and me because I hung out with him.

I don't doubt it's a minority acting out these subhuman acts of terror but the problem we face as a society is identifying and distinguishing radicalised muslims from moderate non-radicalised muslims.

It's so bizarre that these people are all seemingly on a watch list and can drive into central London without being picked up, these people are not complete unknowns.

Religion and the people who actually believe/follow it are all brainwashed numpties. Who'd want 72 virgins anyway, can you imagine how much of a clingy nightmare that would be...give me 5 whores any day...!

I thought the bomber was English of Libyan decent so I think pointing the finger at Muslims their religion/communities etc. is a nonsense really.

I stick by what I said a week ago,the moderate muslims have got to stand up and be counted and stop hiding behind a veil of silence.
These people don't like our western lifestyle ,wars in foreign lands are only a small part of the equation .
At the moment we are an easy target,Anyone involved in terrosim should get life in solitary confinement when convicted .

Internment for the extended families of the terrorists - extreme maybe but we live in extreme times - the country did it in '39 - I dont think we can afford to be a nice tolerant nation in these times!

As all these terrorists are muslims, and they all go to one of the 3500 mosques in the country. Monitor the mosques and you will have a guaranteed source of leads. As soon as the HR law has been repealed after Brexit, they can be shipped back to their country of their roots (Abu Hamza type cases).

The total focus group is 3 million, take away the women, say roughly 1.5 million, from which the rotten apples need to be removed. The quiet majority needs to filter them out as they visit the same places, they are in the best position to do so.

Simple steps can be taken for starters by having to verify the identity of anyone renting cars / vans to see if they fit a profile / are on a watch list / associated with anyone on a watch list. Fortunately, it is not that difficult to recognise them in the majority of cases.

Use the camps in North Africa, everyone coming in goes through the vetting process there. No ID, no entry anywhere regardless of age.
Every country on the receiving end supplies admin to the camps and NOT the aid agencies. They only have their own interests to take care of that"s why as little as 2% filters down to actual help, Isnar and others actually got it down to zero, no help at all.
A real time ID system has to brought in to Function in the UK and not just split registers like the Police there"s one, National Insurance another ,National Health Numbers different again, fecken joke. 1 number 1 system, you"re not on it then off to the camps and NOT council housing

take away the women,

Why ?

Initially they are not as high a risk if we want to approach this problem top down. Agreed that they can't be dismissed, but from a resource point of view perhaps easier to concentrate on the majority of the issue.

Can't believe that one of the London attackers was on Channel 4 last year spouting ISIS rubbish, and he was allowed to live another year to cause this event. The time has come that these people just "disappear" without publicity, just to never be found.

Plenty of female suicide bombers been around over the years

This 2016 documentary is essential viewing IMHO and challenges some assumptions about some of the most dangerous radicals being immigrant Muslims, or even being from Muslim backgrounds, or that moderate decent Muslims are not vocally opposed.

Regards what to do, the original Control Orders were the only balanced tool that was available but were banned after a European Court ruling on Human rights grounds. The sad truth is that had they been in place lives may have been saved, interesting to hear people start to call for them to be re-introduced! https://www.solicitorsjournal.com/news/legal-profession/barristers/court-appeal-confirms-control-orders-breach-right-liberty

Q: Where you are going to deport a British born radicalised convert to?
Q: Bearing in mind most planned attacks thwarted by the security agencies were as a result of information from the Muslim community, what's the benefit or expected outcome of attacking and stigmatising the decent majority?

I think that as with the Irish troubles, solutions require intelligent, often unpalatable steps and co-operation with decent majorities, the alternatives tend to entrench positions and ferment more extremism.

Response to sticky:

There have been, but their activities have not been in the same league inside the UK compared to their male counterparts. Ideally, they are all monitored to the same extent but with a finite set of resources to do this, I would have thought that the biggest result could be achieved on the smaller section first.

Travel movements outside the country should be monitored for both sexes anyway.

Seems everyone here's worked out how to fix the world and that they know best. :?

Anyway.
My point was LIFE GOES ON, and carry on.

Playing Devil's Advocate here... (and keeping my own opinions out of this)

When there's an incident the majority voice always seems to be that the Intelligence Agencies should know more about what 'these people' are up to...

However, there's uproar from the 'Human Rights' brigade every time there's talk of watering down Civil Liberties, and other voices complain loudly about 'Big Brother' when addressing the subject of adding back-doors to encryption protocols to allow the Intelligence Agencies to keep a closer watch on communications...

Any changes to the rules have to apply to everyone as you don't necessarily know who the potential terrorists are until after you've started the monitoring process and full monitoring will likely lead to more 'threats' being detected at an early stage.

The more controls and oversight you put in place, the less privacy and 'freedom' we, the general population, have... are we ready to live in a more controlled society if that's the price of feeling/being more secure... or do we regard this as a step towards a police state...?

1. Their origins, you could be born here, but your origins are still wherever your relatives are from. The Manchester bomber could have gone back to Libya.
2. Information is one thing, acting upon it is another. If the person is interviewed, he/she should not be monitored like is happening now - action should be taken quicker. Spout any nonsense in public - get them removed straight away, don't way until after an event. With the Irish troubles, any Irish person in the UK was treated with suspicion (including my father in law). He always took it fine whenever stopped as that is what he expected being part of that community. The price you pay for living in another country.

Why everyone? We have a defined slice of the population.
