Monkey World Garage project

Dont know if anyone is interested or not? But i am going to keep a log of my garage workshop build just in case anyone is.

So i have an old Cotswold stone mini barn/out building. Apparently it used to be a dairy ( that's what an old lady down the road has said ) Any way it had seen better days much like our house when we brought it 4 years ago. So after saving a bit hear and a bit there for the last few year me and Mrs Monkey have a few quid to spend on the out building and driveway.

It had an asbestos roof ( not nice and we wanted rid ) It leaked like a sieve anyway. We also had a tree growing out of one of walls so thats had to come down and be rebuilt. So far the roof is off wall down and built back up with block work. I still need to do the stone fascia. Hopefully next weekend i will get some joinery done and the second floor put in. Then the roof up and felt and battens on before i go away on holiday on 31st of October. we hop its all done and the driveway complete by Christmas.

Hears some pictures.

Lots of work on the horizon and my back already hates me

That is going to be a proper man cave, your back will love you when you finally sit down on the sofa next to the beer fridge that you are surely going to install upstairs  :D

Yeah it is Bing i have a big sturdy bench loads of cabinets to tidy things away in. I also have a wish list as long as my arm for tools. I will be getting a compressor and spray and air powered tools for sanding and shaping. I also have a lathe and a small Milling machine :D

Thanks Ginger i do need a tea boy?????

Wow!! That does look like a lot of work Mat!

Will be worth it when it's all finished though.

Makes me look like a right plonker for moaning about having to paint our living room! Lol.

Will be good to see this develop!

Think you need a couple of LED tv's with PS4's or Xbox One's in the customer reception area as well!! :P

Where are you putting the monkey bars and swings?!?!?! :poke:

Tvs PS4s there is hardly room for me the car and the tools.. Definitely will have a TV i was thinking of getting some nice posters of old BMs and obviously a Zed on the wall.

Looks like a great project. Best of luck with it. If you get to the stage where you need the final push then we could always organise a 'DIY SOS' type weekend :P

Its a standard garage door 7' x7' we are getting the barn style doors from Howdens Mr Wilks. We have done that so i can get a car in but there is room for cupboards and tools down both sides.

Thanks Andy but i doubt it will be that Grand.

Thanks CJ Completly agree the house was very much the same state. New roof on half of it. Complet re wire and central heating. Not to mention exposing loads of old beams and stone work.
Hears the front of the house

Roof off

GT hopefully by Christmas you can come over and we can do the DISA valve together in the dry and the warm.

Nice looking shell building.

Remember it is a very slippery slope to big money spending, I did the same a year ago and ended up spending more inside the garage than I thought
