Thanks buddy although i feel too many body mods can look a bit weak on some cars.
I think with the extra power brake and other upgrades I should just about get away with the funky front wings.
 
Been another busy week of evenings working on the car. After lots of head scraching i have got al the pipe work to fit. I didnt have to cut the car at all either. And i have managed to tuck it all in so the head light fits properly at last (but the last picture is an old one with it not fitting)

The black box is the flapper valve to allow the car to breat NA untill boost is greater. It then seals and allows many more horse powers. :rofl: :D
the pipe coming in at 45 dgrees is the boost pip the other is to the pod filter by the oil cooler.

It'll be up to your results and experiences for me to decide if I'll go with a delta800 ecu too. So I'd really like to know if you run in strange niggles/inconsistencies during the tuning. (of course your boost system is totally different from mine)

Is it your catch can? what are those small pipes in the middle (not the ones with the filters on it). Its not really clear to me how it works. Are those tiny pipes drains to the sump or so?

And how do you now run your oil lines (oil cooler etc).

So far buddy it’s been amazing. Fully intergested alarm works all the dash functions. It’s like it’s not even fitted and it’s on the OEM ECU. It’s completely future proofed can control loads of other stuff. And the software is apparently good and easy to use.

I can also delet the ICV. And obviously the MAF.

Yeah it’s the catch can. I made it to fit and it’s about 2.5l volume after reading catch can size should if possible match displacement. It has 3 different internal compartments. With high and low passes and wire wool in the last compartment. The 2 tubes are just holes so I can bolt it to the spare bracket behind the washer bottle. It has s drain at the bottom with a valve. The oil lines where removed so I could fit the flap valve. So it can breath N/A until boost is greater and it closes and seals. It’s a Volvo marine engine part. From a super and turbo charged engine. The engine was strugaling to breath NA.

The new oil system is fed from a tee fitting off the oil pressure sensor port. And then the turbo. The oil cooler has a thermostat only lets oil to it when it’s too hot but I can’t remember what temp that is.

Guidok don’t suppose you know the limits on the stock fuel pump? I have a new upgraded one on order. But I don’t think it will arrive in time. I am swinging for 350bhp as I think it will start leaning out due to the pump after that.
 
Interesting read on the catchcan.
The m54 is quite easy on the sump pressure. Ive done some experimenting with cleaning the hose from the valve cover outlet to my supercharger (about 1m hose) and it then takes quite some time driving before the end of that hose starts to get a little greasy. So there is very little air and oil droplets going through that hose.
When I look in my catchcan (which is quite small), after say 2k miles of pretty spirited driving there is maybe 5-10mm of oil in the bottom. Of course a bigger catchcan with multiple chambers will filter out more oil.
I think most of my oil consumption (about 1L every 2k miles) is through the valve stem seals or piston rings.

Nice to read that the SCS ecu hasnt resulted in christmas trees lighting up in your binnacle. That was the part I was most worried about.
That it'll be more controllable with tuning compared to the stock is a sure thing as there are no hidden, undocumented mappings in the code.

I dont know the limit on the fuelpump, but I advise you to get a 3.0si facelift fuelpump (but I'm not 100% sure it fits...).
I'm not sure if that has a larger flow, but it has a higher pressure which is better for atomisation of the injector spray.
I also dont know what the effects on the stock fuel pump are if you mod it with a different fuel pressure regulato (efficiency wise)

I suspect the stock fuel pump has enough flow to serve the 350hp. I'm also at that level (380bhp) and my car is running very rich when I'm at full throttle. I dont have an afr graph, but this is based on the numerous of people driving behind me when I'm giving full throttle, they can smell the unburnt fuel. Even on the autobahn.
But the higher fuel pressure is better for tuning with boost. The boost pressure is working against the fuel pressure, so the pressure difference gets lower (which is bad for the injector spray pattern, and the injector has to be open for a longer time)
best is a dynamic fuel regulator that regulates accoring to boost level.
The only thing to watch out for is whether the n52 fuel pump draws way more electricity. I dont know which module drives that pump.
Maybe a solid state fuel pump controller might be an option. Also tuning wise to vary fuel pressure. MAybe the SCSdelta ECU can already do that.
 
I got a tip off about the catch can from a guy fairly well known in the uk BMW tunning scene. And then did some reading. I doubt it’s actually a problem.

No the delta 800 has been the easiest bit so far! Most £££ too maybe there is a lesson there? Let me get it mapped and run it for awhile I will keep you updated.!
Another plus with his ECU is map switching so you can have an all out crazy map and a every day map, not sure if that can work with a supercharged system? But easy with an external wastegate.

If your getting 380 that’s good enough for me right now.

Thanks :thumbsup: people saying this kind of thing! Is keeping me keeping on. It’s been a long difficult journey witch has and is financially ruining me! But all being well it will be worth it. :(
 
Might also be worth looking into running a small sump on the turbo oil drain rather than going directly to the scavenge pump.

That’s not a bad idea. And definently an option if I have problems :thumbsup:

But at the moment it’s just a case of get it running and see.
