Tempted to try one of these , but have tried similar units before with no luck

Used mine for 4 years now as I have the 30 pin its easier than pulling half the boot out to install the bluetooth module (which I also bought incase this wasn't any good)

Although Layen isnt a house hold name it's the best adapter of its kind. I did a lot of research before buying one as a lot say they won't work in cars but this one works a treat for £22 cant really go wrong.

Ordered  thanks

Delivered, no good 😦, seems it prefers Dennison to intravee

:( Thanks for posting though, as it was in my amazon basket for my next order!

Hello Folks,

Any update on the matter? looks to me that I might have to set the intravee aside.

Can't download new music through iTunes to my old ipod and I have an iPhone 15... So I'm down to CD or Radio.

Regards from Spain!

Sadly nothing I've found :(

I, like you, have a 15 now, so can't even connect that. I've kept my old 12 just for the Z4! Not ideal as I'll have to keep adding new music to it. It is also temperamental, sometimes just doesn't work, and I can never skip a track

The issue with other options is the quality/volume is not as good, I do have a 3.5mm AUX, but it's poor. Only option I see left is to get a BT adapter for the stereo, but that'll be as bad, if not worse than the 3.5mm AUX.

I don't want to, but feel a modern headunit maybe the only way to go. But not even sure how that works with DSP

Can you not just get a bluemusic that plugs into the cd changer? I have that and it sounds great, much better than aux

Can you provide a link?

Does this mean you have to remove the Intravee II? As it has some great features...

Yea it does I'm afraid, uses the same connectors. I got this one, https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0773MX7BG?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title. If you have DSP I think that you need an adaptor.
I had an Intravee when I got my car but took it out, what does it do over just ipod connectivity?

Thanks!

The interface allows you to add some additional info, such as water temp, rev's etc. Then there is the programming side, for indicator flashes etc. Finally the journal is helpful if you've left your car with someone, you can spy on their journey!

Ah nice ok! I think it seems that you're going to have to choose between the fun features and decent audio sadly :(

I have these if your interested.PM me

Still have the alpine unit too!

Thought id update, as i found a solution thanks to an other forum member…

The Bluemusic was the ideal product, but the one that connects to the back of the stereo, not the 3+6 in the boot for the cd changer.

With this arrangement, the intravee stays connected and the Bluemusic is ‘spliced’ into the audio connectors at the stereo. I’ve removed the Alpine converter and left the audio connector disconnected from the intravee, to avoid any issues. (I previously was trying to figure out the pinout and make my own cable!)

Track names and details dont work, but MSFW does. So does the info the intravee displays on the custom headers.

The best thing is the audio quality is as good as the intravee cable and works with my DSP setup.

Pretty over the moon with it all! I stripped it back, and installed a 12v USB port in the glove box, as I’d lost the charge ability from stripping old parts out. Even better as I just jump in the car and it plays from where the phone left off.

Do you have a link to the blue music that you found that works keeping the intravee in place

sadly no. But it was the 3+6 pin model. Photos of what the seller sent me, I couldn’t find this model but perhaps email them. I can’t imagine there are many 3+6 pin z4 modules.
