You might be wrong there! :D its really not a snob thing, I have nothing to be snobbish about. It's a right and wrong thing that's factual. Just like when you know what's right and wrong with wheel sizes. You care about that, I care about grammar. :wink:

I get your factual viewpoint & nothing wrong in caring about grammar but in life not everyone gets the same upbringing or education & therefore may not always be 100% grammatically in their spoken or written word . There could also be some form of dyslexia involved ? For those reason's i find it snobbish & aloof to want to correct workmates , strangers or friends , that's just my own opinion of course & not offered to offend . I do correct my offspring though as i think that's a fathers duty :oops:

and the word "gotten" , I hate it, according to what I looked up it appears to be correct, as in " she had gotten a ___" or " we had gotten blah blah blah" . but I just hate it. It just seems wrong.

Popular on here alot at the moment is "Swap it out" or "change it out" Are we American ? No. What happened to replace or change ?

My current 'favourite' is "my bad".....OMG ! Just ridiculous !

My favourite at the moment - calling people out. As in, "I'm calling you out on that statement". Another bloody americanism - what's wrong with using the word 'challenge'? I absolutely hate the way the English language is being ruined by lazy idiots with a vocabulary picked up from mindless cable channels. :x
 
It's not just the way younger people speak though , I despair at the lack of basic manners and the inability to use a knife and fork properly in public :headbang:
