Modern life boiling your piss...

"Enjoy ! " . Enjoy what FFS ?
"No worries". That must be nice ! This is fine from an Aussie.
" Can I get one of those strawberry tarts ? ". Yes you can but it's probably best if you allow the staff to get it for you.
"Shut up !" . Meaning "Well I never!".
" I was literally green with envy". No you were figuratively green with envy.
" So I parked the car the other day" . What caused you to park the car ?

Pedant mode off :-)

The problem is that we all get caught using crap grammar on occasion. Language is a dynamic thing. We didn't even have agreed spelling rules until a couple of hundred years ago.

Off to seebif I can get some beer

Quite funny that words being used wrongly annoy you but then you make a spelling mistake

Unless it was deliberate :?

"Oh that's heart rendering! " No ! It's 'rending'... ffs !

"Can I have a slither of cake ?" No ! That's what snakes do !

Popular on here alot at the moment is "Swap it out" or "change it out" Are we American ? No. What happened to replace or change ?

My current 'favourite' is "my bad".....OMG ! Just ridiculous !

Blood pressure's rising. Good excuse for a glass of Macallan ! ! :D

Mostly just ignorance due to never having read a book BUT wondering why Americans have “swap meets” we have flea markets and Brits have ?... I looked up swap. It’s Old English, 16th century usage was clapping hands( handshake) to signify a barter or trade deal etc. I would never have guessed the Americans were correct .... weird eh?
