Missing the Zed already :o( > Update

Its only been 3 hours and I'm missing the Zed already :( so to all those with their little problems, chin up you could be driving this :o

Its a F20 118d Sport and actually goes like the clappers, very nippy and drives and handles well. This was the model I was going too order before I secumbed to the Zed and how glad I didn't order one in the end. Compared to my old E87 its very dissapointing, ride and performance is much better than the old model but the feel of the thing is not nice, the doors feel and sound tinny together with hatch when closed which is a big surprise . The biggest letdown for me is the interior which is just acres of plain grey plastic :( Not what I expected.

The Zed really does feel premium and much more satisfying :)

Sorry if I missed something, but is your Z unwell ?

I'm afraid I look at the front of that car and feel sick... I hope I never have to drive one

The Zeds booked in to have this engine whine investigated. The dealer suggested they keep it over night as the whine is worse when its cold, like first thing in the morning. See what they say anyways.

The 1 Series drives great and good fun but it doesn't feel like a premium product somehow :(

Hope all gets sorted quickly. Mine booked in Friday - hope they don't want to keep it over the weekend. So disappointed

Thanks Sizzle, hoping I get it back tomorrow, don't want it at the garage now the weathers warming up :)

The interior of the 1 and 3 series leaves a lot to be desired. The screen looks like someone forgot to design it in and stuck in an old digital photo frame as an after thought.

I like the new 1, the Mrs nearly got a 116i, but ended up with a top spec focus instead, I got a e90 318d as a courtesy car, was ok but was a m sport with gangsta tints and wheels too big for the car. That 1er you got looks quite hight spec its got optional xenons

ewwwww thats gross!

i would never give mine in for something as trivial as a whine...... mine has to be virtually dead before i say it needs fixing :D

 SWMBO get annoyed with me as I get so miserable when mines in for intermittent faults or rattles etc as dealers don't find the problem and or make it worse ,

my old golf went in for a noise on cold start up, they couldn't work out when they did 3 test starts after I dropped it off why it didn't do it.

same car went in for a fuel smell again on cold start. I told them no point test driving until next morning, I left something in the car so went back to collect it to see a mechanic pulling out of the car park in my car doing a test drive

Well just need to know if its serious or not, better have it looked at now than be stranded by the side of the road

Don't think its anything serious as goes once warmed up, but as most on here say theirs doen't do it, needs checking out :)

if it only does it when cold, they will road test when the engine is warm and come back with unable to replicate fault on the job sheet

Thats why I've left the Zed with them over night, so they will hear it when first started up

My thoughts on the new 1 series -

Pretty from afar...... but FAR from pretty

Hope you get your car back soon :)

Have you checked on Rightmove to see how much your property has devalued with that car on the drive ?
