Mirror glass

Just noticed my driver door mirror glass seems to be vibrating a bit whereas the other side is rock solid. How are these held in place and is mine about to fall out?

Double sided tape.

Mine was the same on my roadster so I stuck it down with some 3M stuff.

+1 same.
I wasa bit shocked how easy the could have fallen out, but double sided taped them as a quick fix 2years ago and forgot I had until I read this lol.

Below is a guide how to remove the glass, then you may see what's causing the issue. :)

Spooky. Mine just fell out yesterday while I was accelerating out of a junction. Don't ask how much the replacement glass is. :x

Ok then, since you asked, it's £91.

Most buy from ebay for only a few quid

Mine fell out while washing it last week, fortunately I managed to catch it

Stuck it back in place with silicone, seems fine now

Luckily I pulled mine off just before it fell off.
over £ 100 from the stealers, but that includes the plastic bracket. I just glued mine back with silicone as others have done. No problems since.

Both of mine started vibrating! Took them out before they fell out and stuck them back with double sided sticky pads. No problems since. This is a common z4 issue.

Lost mine on a recent journey, really missed it all the way home... replacement was £7 via ebay double sided tape and its fine....

Aha! Cool. Just seen that there are plenty for about £12. A bit of a saving then. Presumably I'd want the heated version.

I had noticed my driver side mirror shaking a lot recently. Took a trip to Notts today and it was very shakey so at a slow point on the motorway I tried to steady it and found it was loose!

Naturally I stopped at the next services which happened to have a WH smiths. Pulled the glass off, got some super glue (araldyte) and spread it all over. Applied job done

Bit crap how they apply it in the first place, but thanks to this forum danger averted for me and other road users!

Mine randomly feel off last week too when I stopped at an accident to check everybody was ok! Fortunately it didn't smash and I stuck it back on today with some epoxy resin!

Might check the other one!

I removed my passenger door mirror one day this past fall, it was about to fall off, I bought super glue and glued it back on. Haven't had a problem since with it.

Ours jumped out last week. 10.99 off eBay. You get a new clip in plastic bit and heater.
Mine was not blue tinted for info.
Not oem but £11 vs £90 I can live with that!

Yeah pulled it off,was stuck with a small blob only, smeared a ring of all purpose glue then pressed it back in. Job done.

Is it the good weather? Mine started wobbling on the motorway yesterday so I've just come on here to look for a fix - I didn't even need to search. Sounds like I'm lucky it hasn't fallen off.

Mine started wobbling on the motorway on Monday, took a trip to Halfords and got some Araldite, stuck it on, waited 2 mins.. Job done!
