Wing mirror glass compatibility

New day, new question. I want to buy a replacement mirror glass for the Z4 and I noticed there are not so many aftermarket ones available. What is curious is that some companies sell the 1 and 3 series glass as fitting to the e85/86 mirrors. Is that really the case? Has anyone bought one of those meant for the 1/3 series and fitted them into the z4?

All I can you is that the M3 has an identical shape mirror.

Yes I do, the E46 M3

Thanks Usel. I just looked at the aftermarket options for the e46 M3 and the first one I found (Magneti Marelli) states that it also fits the following models

I guess I’ll just have to buy one to find out if it fits the e85/86

You may find the heat pad connections are on the other end of the mirror. There is, however, enough loom inside the mirror housing to move the two black heat pad wires to where the connections are.

Fingers crossed they are in the same place as normal
