Miles Per Tank

MC - about 320-345 motorway, more like 270 if only short journies. Told you, Driving Miss Daisy.

Anyone know about the size of the tank in a non m compared to an M?

Exactly the same

Edit: although the 'feed me' light comes on earlier in an M (presumably to reflect the shorter range for a given amount of fuel). In the non M variants the light comes on with roughly 6 litres left. In an M the light is on with around 10 litres remaining

I did wonder about the 'feed me' light. I'm also fairly convinced the fuel needle moves depending on how hard you are driving. I could swear mine goes up and down if I'm booting it with just above the last mark left..

About this. Maybe a bit less during slow commute weeks. On a hoon... I refuse to even think about it, completely defeats the entire purpose of the car :driving:

Having a slush box kills it for me. No more than 250 miles to a tank, which is by a funny coincidence about how many miles I do a month.

Probably why it's so low to be honest, lots of short journeys don't help.

I did get 380 miles when I had to commute to and from Cambridge for a week about a month ago.

I had an auto last year and wasn't working for 9 months or so - using it mainly for short journeys destroyed my fuel economy, felt like I was in the garage every 10 minutes :(

2004 3.0i. so not the M. of the 3 fuels the momentum was the smoothest. followed by the super and then standard. not much in it between the momentum and super.

I get about 290-300 miles per tank - Dally drive with a little spanking now and then

Sorry guys just wanted to say this is an estimate as I never let her get below 1/4 of a tank I don't have big bollocks like smart bear !!!!!!!

:D

280-295 and I will be hunting a petrol station. Seen 0 miles left a few times!

For a 340BHP that's pretty good!

after 6 it just goes ----

it was because of this that i noticed the momentum not doing as many miles... i was always running out on the way home on a friday :D

2.5si averaging about 350 miles per tank over the past couple of years and as high as 400 once or twice on long journeys. Having SWMBO in the car adds about 50 miles.

Have also done 11 miles with the range indicating "--", which was a buttock-clenching experience.

M coupe. Weekend use only. Shell v-power only. 240-260/tank. Did a run to Trowbridge and back averaging 90 on the motorways and returned 32mpg! Never ever ever spank it cos it's rude. :P

Yes. The gauge adapts to your driving. So if you've been hooning all day and the feed me light comes on, then you switch to miss daisy driving, it's possible to switch the light off again...
