And thanks mcbeee! Maybe we can meet up sometime somewhere in the middle. :D

Ayers Rock to Darwin in the Northern Territory around 2100 k's in 26 hours 12 hours of night running with roadkill on the edge of the shoulder all the way...was terrified of hitting a roo or cow/bull that I averaged around 80-90 whole nightr.
I also did Adelaide to Darwin in 1 stint too around 3200 k's in 31 hours

From Dover to Pegasus Bridge nr Caen, then on to Brittany one day (c400miles), then about 650 miles from Brittany to Spain the next day, then about the same (650m) up to Beaune in France a few days later in the Z4M Coupe followed by another 390 odd up to the Channel Tunnel the next day. The Z was faultless and very comfy.

In my 03 WRX Impreza about 850 miles from Spain to Calais (in around 10.5 hours..!!) in one sitting. :driving:

Cambridge to Spa Francorchamps would be my longest including a ferry. Other trips have involved other drivers doing a share. Longest for me not in the car was starting the day in Chicago, going from work to the airport to fly to glasgow, then a train from there to the north coast of Scotland. No idea of the miles but there's no way I could have driven the last bit since I was holding my eyes open to stay awake by then!

I did 1050 miles from Ostend to Budapest in under 11 hours in a Renault GTA V6 Turbo in 1997. I doubt I could match that in my Z4MC today because of traffic and speed restrictions.

998 miles in 17 hours straight, leaving Llandovery in West Wales around mid-day, arriving around 0600 at Sere Rustaing in SW France, and the only time the roof went up was for an hour on the ferry. :)

But at my age it took another two days to sleep it off LOL

i did 1145 miles in 23 hours, only stopping for petrol and the occasional toilet stop.

newcastle to l'estartit in spain, unfortunately not in a zed :(

I did my longest run in a VX220 as well. Staffordshire to Monaco in one go via the tunnel. Just over 1000 miles, roof down till 2 am then roof up until dawn in Lyon then off again to the coast.

I was deaf, dehydrated and knackered but it was a memorable drive :driving: .

Once did a 750mile stint from Vienna to Milan (the scenic route over the GrossGlocknerHochAlpenStrasse etc) in a Euro Rally a few years ago in the VX220... Every single mile was quite amazing including chasing a flock of 8 Audi RS6's and a lone Audi R8 test car up and down the GrossGlockner.

80% was roof off too and omg did my head hurt after!! :D That very same day i also got a parking ticket in Vienna, Graz and Milan, plus got caught speeding averaging 204kph between 2 toll gates in Italy (after so long, you start to rush as the bars in Milan close early  )... Whoops Fortunatley the Italians found it funny, especially when i managed to fit the VX underneath the closed toll barrier

Edit: Oops forgot that only 2 days after the above, i drove Geneva -> Sheffield which was about 800miles :)

How about a thread about how many times you had to fill up in a day (and i mean FILL up!) 800miles is 5 fills in a VX :D

Haven't yet done any long trips in the Z but looking forward to it this summer.

On a motorbike my record in a day is a shade short of 700 miles. That was a Honda CBR600 from Canet-En-Rousillon in the south of France to Calais in the North. Decided to have an extra day on the beach and then blast it across the country in a day rather than spend two days travelling! :)

Have done ~700 miles in a day regularily in other cars, much less comfy than the Z! After a few hundred miles and especially if you enjoy driving the distance ceases to be an issue and you just settle back and enjoy the scenery and the roads. There's nothing like driving through the night and seeing new scenery and a new country as the sun rises.

Most countries passed through in a day would be about 6 - Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Italy. We didn't really need to go via Luxembourg but I thought it'd be cool to hear radio luxembourg in FM! :) Not sure I actually did find it in FM in the end, but the prospect of it amused me on the drive down... :)

London to Lucerne (Switzerland) in a day. And with 2 hours sleep the night before was unbelievably knackering in a VX220T. It is probably only 600 miles or so driving but felt like 1,000.

The worst I have ever felt though was doing the 400 or so miles after work from London to Luxembourg on the way to the Ring in February, dark, cold (icy cold), with thick fog. I actually threw up as it was so mentally and physically draining.

In something like an M3 I would of done both of those trips and got out bright-eyed and bushy-tailed :)

You must have piles the size of billiard balls?! That is some journey on a bike.

I did 1300 miles in 21 hours in my M3, I wasn't exactly bright eyed and bushy tailed after, more like bug eyed with a sore ass but at least it was better than a Z3.

Impressive to do that on a bike...

It wasn't that bad really, I was enjoying the ride and by that time I'd covered about 2500 miles already that holiday so my backside was used to the saddle :)

Mine was from Ontario to Rhode Island this past summer in the Z4M...about 610 miles from my door to the hotel.

I wouild not have wanted to do that trip in my old 3.0i Z4, but in the M it was quite nice - most of it top down too.

Cheers, Al

Calais to Nice in one hit, through the night, rekon about 750 miles stopping for fuel and 2 half hour rest stops.Slept it off on the beach the next afternoon. About 12 hours driving.
Arhuus in Denmark to Northampton on a bike with Chrissie on the back!! Only stopped or fuel, and a sense of humour failure by her indoors ,( my bum hurts, my hair is a mess,my knees hurt, I'm bored, are we there yet?, and the finale of "I'm never going on that f'ing thing ever again")after I made the mistake of turning round and asking her if she was alright, and pulling over after I got a "NO". Trouble was we were on the A14 about 80 miles from home and had to persuade her to get back on of she's be walking home.I thought it was funny......
Several 600+ days heading for the french Alps on the same bike with mates ( left mrs at home) Calais to Annecy, Nice to Troyes, one day Northampton to Loughborough, to Ulverston, to Nottingham and back to Northampton on the same day, rekon @650 miles.
