I did Doncaster > Kent > Doncaster > Crowle (home) > Sheffield > Crowle on Monday. Clocked up a shade over 550 miles, I think, which is easily my record for a day in the Zed.

What's yours?

"2 weeks before Christmas, I did Colchester (in Essex) to Newcastle and back again
Left a 3am and arrived 8.30am ...was there half an hour (to give my approval on a bike I bought on Ebay) and then back home by 2.30pm... round trip 603 miles
Thats my record at anytime in any vehicle in 29 years of driving

Hah - you live in Crowle ? As in Worcestershire Crowle? Know it very well if so.

Good work. Did you forget your wallet ?

I think my max has been about 500ish too but I'm trying to remember where I went.

Whenever I know I'm doing serious mileage it's all about keeping it above 30mpg, but I never manage it.

Left Colchester at midnight to do a day trip to the 'Ring, got back about 11pm the following night after covering about 1000 miles, including 4 laps of the 'Ring (in 4 hours due to accidents).

We normally do a 4-5 day weekend when we go, but this was a shakedown of some new brakes & suspension.

In the past I've also done Liverpool - Hull - Inverness - Liverpool in a day - about 1000 miles too.

I've only been driving for 5 and a half years now, so I'm sure I've got time to beat that. Particularly next year if I do a euro-trip!

I managed about 33-34mpg overall on Monday, so wasn't too bad.

Derby to Helston (Cornwall) 620 miles to return a hire car and collect mine after it broke down. That'll teach me to have once had a brand new Rover.

Longest drive ever for a swim and sarnie at the seaside :) and no intention of trying to break that pb.

I did from Lethbridge, Alberta to Fort Collins, Colorado in one run, 1010 miles in a Z3 with M seats. Sitting on a pillow :D

I'll never do that again. :!:

I used to drive to Aberdeen and back to Cornwall every month in a £500 citroen zx just after I finished uni. 680 miles in a day no problem. Would be a breeze in the Z! The citroen was doing over 4k rpm at 80!

Once did a 750mile stint from Vienna to Milan (the scenic route over the GrossGlocknerHochAlpenStrasse etc) in a Euro Rally a few years ago in the VX220... Every single mile was quite amazing including chasing a flock of 8 Audi RS6's and a lone Audi R8 test car up and down the GrossGlockner.

80% was roof off too and omg did my head hurt after!! :D That very same day i also got a parking ticket in Vienna, Graz and Milan, plus got caught speeding averaging 204kph between 2 toll gates in Italy (after so long, you start to rush as the bars in Milan close early  )... Whoops Fortunatley the Italians found it funny, especially when i managed to fit the VX underneath the closed toll barrier

Edit: Oops forgot that only 2 days after the above, i drove Geneva -> Sheffield which was about 800miles :)

How about a thread about how many times you had to fill up in a day (and i mean FILL up!) 800miles is 5 fills in a VX :D

Respect! 8) :driving:

Clearwater Beach, FL To Allentown, PA 1,150 miles. The drive took about 18 hours. This was in 2007 in my 3.0si and never ever again.... :dizzy:

9 years ago a friend and I decided we would play a round of golf at the most southerly and the most northerly golf courses on the UK mainland on the same day. It was some silly challenge concocted over a few beers one day amongst a group of friends.

We started at 04:00 at Mullion and at 23:30 were finishing on the 18th at Thurso. I think we clocked just on 880 miles in the car, which was a Mitsubishi GTO, chosen as a more user friendly car than the E30 M3 I had then.

With another 880 miles either side of that day, in a 48 hour period we covered over 1700 miles.

650 miles from Banff to Seattle in about 10 leisurely hours. Would love to do that again! 8)

Rick, did you go over the Coquehalla or down south through the winding old road.??

One's fast, the other is twisty, both are fun.

Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to Tucson, Arizona, USA.
3500 KMS in 35 hours with stops for food, fuel, and caffiene.
I was young and foolish then. :driving:
Now I'm just foolish. :)

Kilmarnock to Amsterdam city centre, via dover.
took 15 hours and a half hours in total (including channel crossing)

clocked up 783 miles for a personal record.

and that was on a sportsbike - my arse was sore for a month!

Actually, I came up through the Coquehalla, but on the way back I took a different route (I don't remember exactly). Of course, there's never enough twisties when you're driving a Zed :D but I certainly had fun driving nonetheless.

Rick, If you ever try it again, the South route through Creston and up through to Radium Hot Springs can be good if there are no weekend slowpokes but the road from Radium, north to the #1 Highway is a great stretch. (It's one of my favourites and must be done midweek with a radar detector), oh, and watch out for wildlife by the road. Hitting an elk at 240kmh can be hazardous to your health... :tumbleweed:
