Might be the end of the Z4 for me...

Well, it might be true... My friends predicted that i wouldn't last the year with the Z4, and they might of been ahead of the curve. I saw a 04 M3 on the road the other night, and well, it got me thinking... Then a buddy of mine picked up a 04 Cobra with a Kenne Bell swap on it for a decent price.... that also got me looking around.

Sooooo, even though i have just had the Z4 for a little more then 7 weeks, i might be getting rid of it... though i'm hoping to maybe keeping it thru the winter and trading it/selling it in the spring. Odds are that i will probably opt out for a stock Cobra if i can find one. Wonder if i can get my money back (pro-rated at least) for the extended Maintanence package that i bought with the car??

I don't know yet what i want to do... I just know that usually when i get a idea in my head... its only a matter of time before i do it.

Extended maintenance-you're probably screwed, at least I didn't get any cash back on mine when I traded the 325 for the Z. So, just WHY are you looking at those other cars? Yep, the Cobra is going to outrun the Z ***in a straight line***. The Z will eat its lunch if there are any curves at all. Not to mention the Z will get much better mileage.

i go thru cars like there is no tomorrow....

I had a SRT4 for 2.5 years, but after that... 07 tC = 4 months, 05 SRT6 = 6 months, 05 GTO = 5 weeks, 05 G35 = 4 months.

The idea of the Z4 better in the corners is 100% right, but how many of us ever take our car out on a real track? Though i've done a few laps on a road course and though I have done multiple autox events, i had no plans on doing them with the Z nor would i do them with a Cobra.

The gas mileage on the other hand will be a big difference. I get 38mpg on the highway (gauge number, i hear those are up to 3mpg higher then real numbers) and 25mpg city driving. But the plan is to buy another car sometime this winter that will be a true daily driver and so making the Z4 or what ever other car i get a true weekend/summer car.

Its not 100% certain yet, but i've been down this road quite a few times....

Ever thought of hiring a car?. We have car hire companies in the uk who have really nice cars on the fleet so you can hire one if you are not sure if you want to buy. The dealer's test drive is never long enough to show you if you really like something. Even if you kept a hire car for 4, 5 or even 6 weeks, its gotta be cheaper than the depreciation you'd get if you bought and then sold on soon afterwards. It sounds like you've got an itch that no car so far has scratched for you??

Changing cars like that means you'll never get your money's worth out of them. I buy new, but drive them, on average, 8 years. If you're constantly changing, you're only adding to how much you owe.

If you don't mind me saying so, you sound much too young to have these kinds of cars and I hope you're not engaged/married, or God-forbid, children. No car is perfect. Do your homework BEFORE you sign the papers. You'll be happier.

I haven't lost my ass on any of the cars yet... i'm not breaking even on them, but at the most i'll lose about $1k or so, usually because of taxes and such. Infact, the SRT6 really was the only car that i put money into, paid it off right away and then just kept using the value in the car to get the next car plus usually some money down. The Z was the first one in which i financed anything meaningful. I wouldn't recommend anyone doing what i'm doing, but at the same time its not like in the red with financing.

As for my age or maturity to have such a car... i can only lol at that... I mean, what maturity does one have to have to own a car if one has the means to afford it. I do the changes with the cars not because i have too, but because i can. And no, i do not have any kids and am not married, couple of girlfriends, but thats another story lol

Ooooooooooh... or maybe something like this

From Z4 to Mustang? :poke: I say at least get a C6 that's quick AND has good handling. Or just go straight to an exotic car (Lambo, Ferrari, 997 Turbo/GT2/GT3) and call it a day. And you go through cars quicker than I go through aftermarket wheels. (7~8 sets in 3 years)

Thank goodness for Gran Turismo for the PlaayStation. If it were not for that game, I'd probably have itchy trigger fingers for new cars too. Instead, I'm content with my M3, GT-R, MC-S, and 100 other cars in my virtual garage. 8)

I was actually minutes away from pulling the trigger to a 2004 C5 Z06 prior to the Z4... Did look at a couple of C6's but didn't want to spend the $34k+ for a C6.

When i had the SRT4, i had at one point 5 sets of rims lol

Would still stick with the Z4 over the Mustang and M3 i know they may be quicker but the Z is just so good looking which is something i look for in a car not just the power but at the end of the day its what makes yopu happy its your hard earned so do what you think is right

The C6 or C5 would be my choice out of that lot

Errr... just looked at the interior:

YOU'RE HAVIN' A GIRAFFE!!!

tho the interior isn't great in the Cobra, lets not start interior racing here.... besides, the interior on my g35 was way better then it is in the Z4

Hmm, have to say that the steering wheel looks like it came from a truck or a bus :scratchhead:

This other one you posted, now that's a much better bet -

Maybe I missed something, but I don't understand the point with this subject. A car for sale or what?

Mustang COBRA is a BEAST, moves onto E39 M5 territory...much better than the Z4. Maybe not style wise, but this thing is BLAZING fast..... Wouldnt mind having one myself.

For all the people that like to say "yeah but the corners...."
