Michelin pilot super sports

Indeed a proper R compound tyre will always be better on a hot and dry track. Sprint circuits are something different then the high speeds of a track like the ring. When I drive on a small track with small low speed corners, I go thru tyres faster then on a big high speed track. Maybe the difference between the Cup and Supersports are more noticable on the sprint circuits you drive? Also with a heavy tuned more powerull and more grip car like yours you are probably asking more of your tyres then my car (with almost OEM suspension and no engine modifications).

yeah maybe your onto something... the sprint circuits keep speeds under 100mph.... but the tyres are working incredibly hard, coupled with track biased suspension setup, heavy engine mods, and all the suporting parts, my car works those tyres to the max i find the pss /ps2 Fun, the r comps are just serious... no fun at all, not slipping sliding, just fast times and grip.... incidently, i love sprint circuits are they are won by a good handling car, a stable car and consistant, reliable car, a challenging sprint circuit for me, is about a much fun as it get and i love the fact its timed so only one person at a given time, it keeps my car looking new really but also allows me to enjoy it to the max...

do you find you find your AP BBK over powers the pss during high speed stops??

although i dont do "REAL tracks  " i do what i built my car for competing on sprint circuits, timed runs on small to medium sized circuits and in this arena my car punches well above it weight,
Interesting, which series do you compete in? I do the AEMC, ASEMC, ACSMC rounds so mostly North Weald, Debden, Lydden, Brands Hatch, Hethel. I've thought of using the Z4 but we have 2x GT3s in that class, one of which seems to be mostly made of carbon fibre. Would be interesting to find out what I'd need to do to the Z4 to make it competitive.

On the front I have had a couple of sets of PSS and then tried the cup+. Only managed to get 1 track day out of the cup+ and had to change them half way through the second day to Pilot Sport 2 which is all I could get at short notice. I've had 5 track days out of the Sport 2 and just changed back to PSS which I prefer. I've had the front camber changed to the maximum negative allowable with the standard top mounts which has helped with the outer edge overheating. The rears are still the original PSS.
Sizes I went a little wider on the standard rim 235 front and 265 rear.

Interesting re: pss, just read the latest evo magazine... the Supercar article with the Carrera GT mentions using pss and transforming the car in a good way.
They didn't have enough time finish the development of appropriate tyres for the cgt so to have approval for the pss is pretty impressive.

Hmmm, sounds like spending money on pss tyres rather than blowing the lot on new shiny rims with budget tyres is a better way to start improving ride and handling :)
