Anyone ever run the cup tyres on their car...? Would be interested to know the performance difference between them and the MPSS on these cars? There was a big difference on the CSL.

Most of the people I know who run "roadgoing" race cars use R888.tertius said:carl said:Wouldn't something like the Toyo R888 be cheaper and similar if not better?
Cheaper and similar, but definitely not better.

Don't suppose they said when they would be available a decent range of 18" sizes did they? I've done a bit of searching and there don't seem to be many sizes available.
I have the original CSL wheels and tyre sizes on my Z4M (235/35x19 front and 265/30x19 rear). I wanted to try the new Michelin Cup 2 tyres on my car…but the rear tyre size is not available in CUP 2. I don't understand why Michelin is not making the CUP 2 available in 265/30x19. The BMW CSL was equipped from the factory with the original CUP tyres and now Michelin does not make the new CUP 2 for the CSL.original guvnor said:There's a Cup 2 now. Supposed to be much better in the wet than the originals but you need to be a serious track day enthusiast to put up with about 3.5mm of usable tread depth. I think they do the Cup 2 in CSL wheel suitable sizes.
