Excellent introduction!

Welcome to the Forums!
Those both are very nice cars... Q: what was it that made you switch from an SLK for a Z? I'm just curious.
Loved the SLK350 for the first 2 years of ownership. However, a few minor problems in the last 9 months (water leak in the boot, air conditioning leak). Nothing major, I know, but back to the dealer 11 times to fix the above wasn't my idea of fun

.
So in my search for something different I tried a Audi TT 3.2 quattro, Audi A5 quattro, Porsche Cayman and Lotus Europa. Finally settled of course on the Zed.
The Audis were, quite frankly, boring and not special enough to drive IMHO. The Lotus just not practical as an everyday driver. The Porsche was a great drive, but could only afford the standard 2.7, the S was actually £14K more than the Zed

. The 2.7 was fast enough, only if you continually screwed the engine above 4000 rpm.
So, the Zed was chosen. More of a sports car than the SLK, but still practical and easy enough for an everyday driver. Looks and feels special, and the coupe is a much more rare car in the UK. Good prices also available (12% discount off list for me)

.
Still, of course, remains to be seen whether the Zed lives up to expectations, as the SLK really is a hard act to follow. I'm sure I'll have my answer in the next couple of months
